    DoingMyOwnThing40;

I have to agree with Old Bill; sometimes a good dope slap is all we need. I wish he had been around before I got married – your story has so many red flags, as did my relationship with the now ex way back when. Over my life I have learned way, way more from my spectacular failures then successes. So don’t beat yourself up over past mistakes.

You sound idealistic; seeing the good in this former fling, single mom, with baggage galore. I am guilty of the same, I want to see the best in people but like Taxguy has already stated – enough women are like that it is not worth the effort/risk.

If I might make a suggestion, forget about the slot-c and focus on you. Upgrade, read, learn, work hard, invest. Learn a skilled trade that commands a good wage. But do it for you – not as catnip to attract a c~~~. Once you have success, monetary or otherwise, you will find that self worth is not measured by pussies f~~~ed.

Think of it this way, 100 years ago most guys only ever slept with a few women – belt notches were not the measure of a man.

    - Marriage is described as an institution. You would have to be crazy to be commited to it. -"If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal. Not people or things" Albert Einstein

Every so often some of us take a vacation from this reality we have accepted. The idea that some unicorns are out there is a seductive one.

But this woman you talked about. Not a unicorn, not even close.

Thank yourself tonight for sharing this cause you were given good perspective by your brothers tonight.

    Good luck bro

If I ever find a unicorn, it’s gonna be hard not to mount it on my wall.

You literally just pointed out every single AWALT aspect and then asked if she’s a unicorn.

Probably, at least emotionally and socially retarded.

A real unicorn story would be like 1 paragraph, not an essay on the skeletons in her closet. A true unicorn story would go something like this.

Back when I was 18, I met a girl in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on spring break.Even though it was only for a few days, I honestly think it was love. But back then there was no internet or facebook or anything. But we stayed in touch. She was shy, as she was still a virgin. We ended up marrying and had a few kids. She was always respectful to me and our children, and works hard to maintain the household and relations with both sides of our family. She loves me, and doesn’t try to change me into a different person. Intelligent with a sense of humor. She never abuses drugs, and is trustworthy. 60 years later, I am on my deathbed surrounded by family, she is standing by my side with love still in her eyes. She is my unicorn.

Wouldn’t we all like that? Too bad it’s just a pipe dream, though I really, really wish it wasn’t.

Oh well, we can still dream.

Like that dream I had of being a seagull flying over some beautiful island and waters, just to wake up to go to work 🙁

Hate it when that happens, you’re dreaming of being in some crazy, alternate reality, future world and then you wake up.

The show The Walking Dead may as well be based on all the people walking around staring into their phones looking at Facebook while their intelligence and social skills melt away.

Oneitis, plus loneliness plus probably alcohol. Give the dude sometime to put his s~~~ together.

As for OP: get over the beta/alpha s~~~, you are what you want to be, not a label. And STOP living in the f~~~ing past, you sound like a tuna. A girl once told me exactly the same things you wrote here.

Thanks guys for your honest feedback. Except for the couple of you with your “This is blue pill s~~~.” If you don’t have any good advice then maybe you should just keep your mouth shut for once.

It’s one thing to tell me “Bro, wake the f~~~ up!” I actually need to hear that. But it’s another thing to just poke fun at my post.

I know that unicorns do not exist, however it is hard to break almost 30 years of “blue pill s~~~.” That’s why I am here to get reminded every now and again that I need to wake the hell up and get this unicorn s~~~ out of my head and this beta/alpha bulls~~~ out of my head too.

I am MGTOW, but I have flaws and am not perfect. There will be days where I have self doubts and feelings of hopelessness. But for the most part I am in the acceptance stage. Once in a while I may venture into the other stages, but I think that is pretty normal. I am not 100% in the acceptance stage yet, but am almost there…….MOST of the time. Just not 100% of the time.

When I first read your post I thought you were either joking or trolling.

Have you actually read your own little story?

If you are really a 42 year old man, then you need to sit down and overthink your life to evaluate what’s wrong with you.

    Seriously.
You shouldn’t act on anything before that.
You are a danger to yourself.
