Here’s a cool article about John Fendel, a car enthusiast who, in 1968, purchased a brand new Ford Mustang and started racing it in 1969. He still does to this day !

So he’s owned this car for 49 years and has been racing it for 48.

That’s the kind of love story that brings tears to my eyes.

    Enjoy !

1968 was the golden year of American Muscle cars.

I couldn’t leave out jaguar, that would be disrespectful!

Yeah… I’m more of a Mini kinda guy.

Small front-wheel-drive cars rock my boat more than heavy RWD.

But anywho, lots of nice cars in there, Tower.

Damn, that is an awesome story. The dude must know that car inside out blindfolded. And I am sure it is set up exactly how he likes it by now…

Dude ‘Tower, you’re talking my language with those pics; though I prefer ’70 due to GM’s lift of the cubic inch ban (454s in SS Chevelles, 455s in GS Buicks, 442s, and GTOs).

I’ve had one of my muscle cars for over 22 years, and guess what…she’s gotten BETTER with age! I must also be a polygamist because I’ve also been seeing two other cars at the same time; one for the last 2.5 years, and the other for about 1.5 years. But they never complain and I could probably talk them into doing a group photo shoot without the bitchiness from real women! And if I let them go, I don’t lose half, or more, of my sh*t!!

Nice find SpiderHerder. That guy’s passion for his dream car has outlasted like at least 3 or 4 average marriages. This is the sort of “relationship” we should all strive to have. Great story.

The 68 Cougar XR7 GTE pictured above belongs to a friend of mine, I had my hands on that car dropping the engine back in.

Here’s a picture of mine (interior) AMX Z-code, rally sport go pkg. 401, air induction, T-10 4 spd., 12 bolt 4/11 posi. Supper rare! last time it was on the road was 1982.

Greg Honda and RPB saw it, ask Greg, you can eat off the the engine, drive train and undercarriage!

I got you beat by 1 year! 1977 my father traded the Javelin for his Studebaker hawk!

Those Go-pack AMXs with the T-10 and 401 are RARE indeed! I’ve always preferred the AMXs over the Javelins though.

Here’s the one I’ve had for 22 years: numbers match and restored to showroom condition. 455/turbo 400, 12 bolt with 3.42s, rally gauge cluster, and aluminum rear axle cover.

Can’t seem to upload a pic, but here’s one from the web that’s identical:
