I’m much less p~~~ed off today than yesterday and this is due to the serious reality check you guys gave me. I’m at peace with unplugging!

It’s good to hear you’re at peace with your decision.

Many thanks WDR, I have faith in the eventual outcome! And I hope to be the first to welcome him here. But whenever he finally takes the red pill—the experience is going to be tough for him.

I think it’s tough for all of us, at one point or another, but his is definitely going to be more immediate than most.

I’m more concerned about his son. You know that verse, about the sins of the father being visited ten-fold on new generations? I think that was God warning what was bound to happen, not threatening what He would do. But what else can you expect to happen to a boy who needs a fire-forged shield as a father, not a Fisher-Price car door.

Regardless of your faith (or lack thereof), there’s wisdom in seeing that a father’s abject failures being visited and revisited and revisited again, especially upon his sons. Who knows what that vindictive bitch has spent his childhood filling his head with, when she’s known the one person who might stop her has been wrapped around her pinky the whole time? And all the things his father should have burdened are going to fall somewhere; in this case, squarely on the shoulders of a young man trying to get through college.

That boy is my last hope. First he is an Eagle scout, and he grew up with four sisters–if he doesn’t know how toxic women can be then no one does. Besides I hooked him on guns three years ago when (for Christmas I got him a brand new Henry lever action). I’ve been shooting with him since he was five. This June he starts in college 50 miles from me 350 miles from the family. And he hasn’t been able to shoot since they moved into the new house. I have a guest room and lots of open space to blast away.

BTW the wife insisted the reason for the move to the new house was to save money as the monthly payments would be less and they could save more—6 months after the move she insisted upon a week long vacation to Ireland—yeah save money.

Cutting people out of your life is just a part of life. We’ve all had to do it. I’ve had to cut out many friends and family because the ties became toxic.

You have to look after yourself, your own emotional well-being. It’s certain that nobody else will…
