If he had ecognised her his body language would of changed then that of playfulness. He didn’t move towards her like he recognises her.

This is a un-breakable social convention of human interaction that never changes. You move towards people you know. You don’t make them to come to you and you get ready for a interaction with somebody that you know. You don’t displayed body language like you don’t know that person was coming.

It is this social preamble is what gives it away.

Yes she is watching him. This doesn’t mean that she know him. It only means that she is aware of his attention toward other women.

If she knew him she would not have thrown down a jumper. This is the body language of someone getting ready for a physical altercation not a verbal altercation. You directly assume it’s going to be physical when you don’t know that person.

If you watch couples who fight in public you will find that their first assumption is not that of physical altercation.
