If you had said this was going to be published in the Onion, then the satire would have been much more apparent.

The way I see it, a job is a job. It doesn’t care what gender you are. Every job requires certain skills (mental and physical) as well as the right temperament to be done well. Which by definition means that not everyone has the right skills and temperament to do the job well. Biology dictates that some people are not going to naturally have the right skills/temperament for a job and may or may not find it easy to adapt to the job. It also means doing the job might make you miserable.

Trying to change the job to fit your skills/temperament will not only end in a poor job being done, but it will make you miserable and prevent someone who’s actually good at the job from doing it well. So if you want the job, change yourself to fit the job, knowing full well that it could make you miserable in the process.

And by the way, there are no masculine and feminine traits. They are only named as such because men or women tend to have them in more abundance than the opposite sex, in varying degrees. Not absolutes. So it’s not really accurate to say a woman needs to be ‘more like a man’ as it is to say that she needs to be more analytical for the job at hand. Leave the gender out of it.
