Mandatory Evacuation

My county just issued a mandatory evacuation for the entire County for Hurricane Matthew. F~~~ them! I was mocking the call while screening it.

I sit on high land for as close to the sea that I live. Dr. Mossberg and I will provide a most unfriendly welcome for any looters. I promise I will treat looters just like rapefugees. They will be shot on sight.

Hell, you won’t be able to reenter the city for days after this “evacuation”. Badged Bankster puppets and the National Guard will see to that.

Seriously, people are acting like a bunch of scared chickens. I’ve never seen so much damn hysteria. Back in the day, we used to just shelter in place. Some of the folks in low lying areas would move to public shelters like schools. Now, they simply have no local shelters open.

The worst case will be a low end cat 2 if it rides up the entire Florida coast before it gets here. I’ve been through that.

F~~~ you. I’m not sitting on the I-16 parking lot that extends for 160 miles.

We had a flood in Nashville May 2010. 22 people died. I was in it.

The world f~~~ing ignored us. I will be mad about it for the rest of my life. Google it when your bored. In my part of town we had 2 feet of rain in 18 hours.Theres stuff on u tube about us being ignored. I was in east nashville

I grew up on the east coast (NYC) and remember Gloria in 1985. Cat 3 as it approached – boarded up the windows and the storm lost strength and hit Eastern Long Island. My Dad road out Andrew a Cat 5 in 1992. Be safe brother. Keep us posted.

Remember how they only named hurricanes after women in the 80s? Then the PC crowd told the NWS it was sexist and names were gender alternated. I think the original logic behind the female naming was how unpredictable women were just like hurricanes. Sounds right to me!

I now have to dodge the cops as I head out to collect client backups to store off-site. My house is very strong. I hope my trees are too. We’re forecast for 70 MPH winds here if it follows modeled track.

I have a Berkey water filter and a generator. The cool air makes living w/o AC easy.

Regarding Andrew – I went down to the Keys 6 months after that storm – drove down from Miami. I have never seen such total destruction in my life. Homestead and Florida City, really anything from Kendall south, were pretty much wiped off the map. Hopefully this one bends up the coast…

it is “funny” how easy we have it in the UK. There are the occasional floods here and there but otherwise the worse we get is a bit of snow or a cold day (still shuts down the transport network though)

I couldn’t even imagine being in a scenario where the weather can literally lead to your death

Well said Jim01. I live in the upper Midwest – tornadoes are the biggest threat – plus huge snow storms and vicious cold. On the up side – no Hurricanes.

Holland? Awesome how they used the steady wind there to drive the windmills that always run pumping the water in what amounts to a series of uphill locks to get it over the dykes. It’s awesome how they battle the sea as well as preserving the structures in Amsterdam that sit upon pilings that are hundreds of years old.

Check out how they brace the buildings from shifting like teeth in a rotten jaw. I snapped this photo somewhere in the city as we rode all over the place on our mtn bikes.

Fascinating place from a construction and engineering point of view.
This shot is of a building where the pilings rotted out under the footings, I spoke to construction workers at various projects, they prop up buildings now then drill and pour concrete pilings past the rotted forest of pilings pounded in centuries ago, some really cool history there!

They also weld their street railway tracks together, no clackity clack, liquefaction would probably occur running on a bumpy track with bolted seams…

Of course not, they need time to go house to house and gather up all the guns!

State of Emergency = Free reign for authorities to take your gun!

It’s happened before and will happen again. Certainly will happen regardless under Herr Hillary.

My advice after securing your house is to hide your firearms. If you need immediate protection, keep one close by, but realize when the Government storm troopers come knocking you are going to loose it.

I hope you take all necessary precautions. Living on the gulf coast is like looking down the barrel of a shotgun. In the NW we get 70mph winds from time to time. But, the Nisqually quake was a 6.9! In 20 years in SoCal I was never in anything bigger than a 4.5 Then, there’s Mt. Ranier…one of t. Helen’s sisters. I live in the kill zone. If that thing ever blows I’ll grab a cold one and my ax and play Glory Hallileua on my deck while the lahar comes at me. Weather is the least of our concerns up here.

C-Pig, thinking of you here in northern Alberta. We suffered a massive forest fire here four months ago and things are not back to normal yet. On September 5, 2003, I survived hurricane Fabian which was a direct hit to Bermuda. It’s winds exceeded 120 Mph. Hope your communication ability is not compromised. Keep us posted, keep safe man.
