Oh, it gets even better. When the western eye wall of this CAT 2 storm was about 15 miles from me at 0430 The top of that same pine broke and damaged the Eastern eve of my home plus punched a another hole in the roof. All power is out. We are under a curfew. Trees are down everywhere. No fatalities which is good.

@BJS: I’m doing ServPro’s work right now and keeping a log of my time. The water did not appear to penetrate behind the wall.

@EWO: Thanks man. I still can’t believe I physically transported 400+ gallons of water. I still have a lot of work to do in that room.

The other thing about firing off shots at random is where exactly is that bullet going to land.

I do IT work for a commercial roofing company. The guys have a box of bullets they keep that were the cause of roof leaks. A .45 bullet will penetrate your skull via sheer momentum falling from the sky.

The big thing LEA is doing is the 7PM to 7AM curfew. $500 fine and/or up to 60 days in jail. You will be arrested at a minimum.

Wow. One gallon is 8.34 pounds if I remember. So you moved over 3200+ pounds of water. Crazy. Imagine the damage you saved to your house. Even with some light cosmetic damage, the insurance company is getting a bargain. I don’t think a dollar a pound is unreasonable compensation.

Happy to hear you are doing alright Cpig. You are the first news I have heard of the curfew or fine arrangement. Sunday is re-entry day for the masses that did evacuate. Good luck when the horde returns. Keep us posted. Be safe.
