We could annihilate NK’s entire military and artillery in 15 minutes using small airburst nukes.
Yeah, we’re going to toss around tac-nukes like tic-tacs.

Anonymous14Question time. Can I draft all of you wanting us to go to war with the DPRK?
No matter how much we bomb or nuke them, we’ll still need boots on the ground and, seeing as you’re all so gung-ho, those boots might as well be your boots.
SFC Old Bill can get you through a sped up boot camp and AIT in about 8 weeks; less spit & polish, less sleep, and more weapons training. Then your can back your mouths up with your own asses.
Seoul and it’s 10 million-plus people are about 30 miles south of the DMZ and the Norks have enough conventional artillery and rockets aimed at that city to make even the WW2 Red Army say “Don’t you think that’s too much?”
The best units in the Norks army are aimed right at Seoul too. When the balloon goes up they’re going to cross the DMZ like a f~~~ing tsunami and nothing will keep them out of Seoul. That’s where all you chicken hawks come in.
We’re going to need men to dig the Norks out of the ruins of Seoul and those men might as well be you.
My all time favorite post of yours Oldbill!
Usually I got something to add to threads like this one, but you pretty much got this one covered.
Oh wait, I did think of something, are they going to pay for it all too?
My all time favorite post of yours Oldbill!
Thanks Joe.
There’s a woman I admire named Jeannette Rankin. She served in Congress as a representative from Montana where she voted against both the WW1 and WW2 declarations of war by the US.
On December 8th, 1941 just after Roosevelt’s famous “Date that will live in infamy” speech, a combined session of Congress “debated” declaring war on Japan for about a half hour. Because the vote was a foregone conclusion – the US armed forces were already fighting Japan declaration of war or not – the “debate” consisted mainly of various blowhards pontificating for the record in the hopes of getting into the papers and news reels.
The roll call vote finally began and when Rankin’s name was called she stood up and said:
“As a woman, I can’t go to war and I refuse to send anyone else.”
It was an act of moral courage and one which led to the usual death threats and charges of treason. Despite having served in the House between 1917 – 1919 and being elected again in 1940, Rankin decided not to run in 1942 because it would distract from the war effort.
On a side note, the next some woman whines about female suffrage remind them of Jeannette Rankin. She was first elected to the House in 1916 four years before the 19th Amendment was ratified in 1920. Women had various levels of voting rights in all but six of the then 48 states with either full or some mix of suffrage levels.
Women, especially in the western states, had been voting for several decades prior to 1920.

Anonymous1What does Japan have to do with North Korea?
North Korea has repeatedly fired missiles into the Sea of Japan, to intimidate Japan. They have also abducted Japanese Citizens. It has been rumored that China has been secretly backing North Korea. There are a lot of tensions between Japan and other Asian countries after WWII. If North Korea starts launching Missiles Japan will be the first to get hit. That is what I think. I know Japan has been quietly re-militarizing to a certain extent too. The situation seems like a powder keg. I do not think North Korea is stupid enough to attack the US directly, and they have nothing to gain by doing so. Ultimately, China and Japan have the most at stake because they have the largest GDP, respectively, and there is a lot of bad blood between those two.
The Chinese won’t tolerate the prospect of US missiles on their doorstep
Correct. This is what it’s about.
according to Zero Hedge there is trouble on the China/India border too….
Yes. China and India are involved in a border right now – armies fighting as I understand it.
The solution I’ve heard that would probably work best is to offer him a way out to save face while looking important.
North Korea only does what China wants. Trump wants payback for Otto – there will be no saving face at this point.

“If North Korea launches missiles that threaten U.S. soil first and the U.S. retaliates, China will stay neutral,” it said.
The newspaper’s stance is “more or less consistent with official policy, just more strongly worded,” said Michael Kovrig, senior north-east Asia adviser at International Crisis Group.
It sounds like China is ‘unofficially’ softening it’s support for NK. I’m thinking that this is what Trump was waiting to hear. Hopefully this will cause Kimmy to pause and think about the s~~~ that he’s been pulling…
And Trump says that he’s “Locked and loaded”. As I understand it, the tough talk is Trump’s only viable current option in this scenario…
U.S. President Donald Trump issued another warning to North Korea on Friday, with a reference to American weapons as being “locked and loaded.”

Just to add,….
https://www.wsj.com/articles/trump-won-t-rule-out-military-option-for-venezuela-1502490803
Mr. Trump said a military option is possible in Venezuela, though he provided few details, while the president also stepped up his warnings to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as he spoke at a press conference at his golf course in Bedminster, N.J., on Friday.
NK, and this,..on top of other current operations we have going on in other parts of the world.

North Korea is China’s pit bull, period. The talk is public, to deflect from what happens in private. Read the Art of War.
Asians don’t think like we do.
Trump is trying to figure out how to defeat North Korea without engaging them in a guerilla war. He probably also wants to have a plan for when the war is over, unlike the Iraq wars.
Asians don’t think like we do.
This.
The West never gets it. Gung-ho loudmouths have no idea of what they are up against.
Any serious war against China or Russia (the Russians are more eastern than western in their thinking), will be a war of extermination.
Even if they are reduced to a handful of people living in caves, they won’t care, as long as the enemy are ALL dead. If it takes 10,000 years to rebuild, that won’t matter to them.
And don’t forget the Samson option. If they reckon that they won’t survive at all, they will ensure that the enemy doesn’t either.
Question time. Can I draft all of you wanting us to go to war with the DPRK?
I already served for 12 years in the USN/USNR and my 2nd wife served for four years in the US Army (it was before we met). We both served during the First Gulf War so obviously, neither of us needed to be drafted.
I am not for invading North Korea, why?:
1) Who wants that sh-t hole of brainwashed zombies anyway? If we invade it, we own it. What is the exit strategy? What do they have of value? Not worth it.
2) Like the 1950’s, we would be face to face with China. This isn’t the 1950’s and war would be devastating to both economies. It would also mean a far worse nuclear threat than North Korea, especially if one throws in Russia. It could well spark WWIII.
I think strategic bombing with a few MOABS, Bunker Busters, drones and planes would shut fat boys pie hole long enough for his citizens to get some of his food. No boots on the ground. China and Russia would publicly condemn us but secretly pat us on the back for shutting Kim Jong Il’s big mouth as long as we DO NOT INVADE! Like it or not, North Korea has a purpose and that is to be a neutral zone between the USA, China and Russia. All we need to do is destroy Kim Jong Un’s threat and it would cost far less in lives and money. That fat boy can even keep his s~~~-hole, if he survives. Or we can give in, starting with Guam. BOTH parties have kicked this can down the road until we have Kim Il Sung’s grandson threatening American soil.
North Korea is China’s pit bull,
OR, one can look at it this way: North Korea is a little fat kid making all the threats. He knows he can do so because he has a friend standing behind him that happens to be the biggest bully on their side of the playground. If we could factor out China, Kim Jong Un would be a much nicer fat little boy. He’s not a pitbull by any means, he’s just a fat little boy trying to stir up s~~~ because he is friends with the bully standing next to him. Yet even his bully friend gets tired of this little prick threatening other kids in the playground.
So I guess I was wrong and we’re not going to war.
The only reason women have so much privilege is because 20 million years ago they forgot how to lay eggs.
