In Japan, I believe, men who get married are still expected to hand over all their income to their wife. If they are lucky they might get an allowance. Like you got when you were a child.

So it seems pretty clear that in societies that are female dominated (whether they admit it or not), population is decreasing. In societies that are male dominated population is increasing. Of course, correlation doesn’t equal causation, but it should at least cause someone to look into a little deeper to see if there is some reason for causation.

You could also argue that it’s not just culture or gender related laws and customs. There is also a correlation in population growth and economic/technological development. However, we already know from history the economic/tech development is driving factor for economic growth. And you can’t really go backwards in that anyway, certainly not without greatly reducing quality of life.

So the only logical choice is to take a serious look at gender relations. Nah. Let’s go with the emotional choice and blame men instead.

I really wonder whether they can actually be so stupid to not realise we have them backed into a corner without even a shot fired.

what these people don’t realize is that when men are blamed for this, it gives men control. If my actions are causing this problem, then the problem will persist until I change my actions. It might be possible to control my actions insofar as it’s possible to stop me from doing something. Governments are well practiced in prohibiting things. But it is much more difficult to positively control my actions to a point that I can be forced to do something I do not choose to do. Bottom line: when blame is mine, control is mine. I control the presence or absence of a solution to this “problem” that I am being blamed for.

You can’t force me back on to the plantation, and the bait you are using to try to lure me back is pretty pathetic.

For me, the “problem” was the fraudulent social contract I was expected to agree to. So as far as I’m concerned, the problem has been solved.

We all know that the West is in the middle of a population collapse but what was interesting about the article to me was the end bit. Corporations will use this data to justify outsourcing more work to machines thus putting more people out of work.

You can’t stop progress but you can control the birth rate.

In the meantime, the time bomb has forced Japan to recognize the importance of innovation more than ever — specifically, with robotics technology. Without strapping youngsters to do the work, machines may be the next best thing.

Men need to be free and dominant. The idea that women can have say over men is utterly absurd, and the idea that men should be poor and pathetic and beg for money or a job from someone else is also absurd.
