I’m rather familiar with the term “virtue signalling” so let me hlep you out:

First off, virtue signalling is a term to denounce SJW behavior. SJW’s dont use it themselves as it is derogatory towards their viewpoint.

What they envision as being “Virtuous”, we would call “Virtue Signalling”.

Think of a virtue, any will do. I’ll use examples that the violent left use to make my point.

Equality is a favorite among SJW’s so lets start with that.

To actually display the virtue of equality, one can put their hard work and efforts into making the world a more level playing field for others.

Virtue Example: An abolitionist risks life and limb to fight for the Union during the civil war, for the express purpose of freeing slaves.

To be Virtuous, one has to actually DO something. Let’s pit this against “Virtue Signalling” which is what SJW’s continually mistake for genuine Virtue:

Virtue Signalling Example: In 2017 an SJW wears a shirt saying “We Freed The Slaves” while protesting a displayed rebel flag.

The difference? The SJW didn’t actually DO anything. She didn’t fight a war. She isn’t freeing any slaves. There are no “victims” that are being saved, there’s no one being oppressed and there is no more oppressor. They are fighting a Straw Man argument, while simultaneously claiming to be “Virtuous” for an act that happened over 100 years ago which they took no part in.

They are merely “Signalling” a virtue, not “Being” virtuous.

    Another example:

Virtue Example: Donating to breast cancer research.

    Virtue “Signalling” Example
: Placing a pink “breast cancer awareness” sticker on your car, so everyone can SEE how virtuous you are.

It’s the action that makes one virtuous, not the T-shirt or bumper sticker. By overt public displays of “Virtue,” the action loses all meaning as the goal was never to be Virtuous, but rather to be Recognized. To be seen as a virtuous person, not to actually BE one.

Donating to charity privately can be virtuous. Screaming that OTHER people should donate to charity while smugly wearing a choice charity T-shirt is Virtue Signalling.

Virtue Signalling is akin to Stolen Valor; It’s like a guy who’s never been in the military walking around the mall in Marine Dress Blues: He’s signalling that he’s sacrificed for the country and virtuously put others before his own well being, while in reality he has done nothing but wishes to be recognized as being virtuous.

The reality is that all modern SJW’s are just walking Stolen Valor cases. They have not earned the “valor” that they are trying to signal. They have not freed a single slave, they have not cured breast cancer, they have not stopped a rape from happening.
They just want to take credit for it.

There is no such thing as a “hate” crime. Calling any crime a “hate” crime is Orwellian and a form of mental control.

"Women are directly adapted to act as the nurses and educators of our early childhood, for the simple reason that they themselves are childish, foolish, and short-sighted—in a word, are big children all their lives, something intermediate between the child and the man, who is a man in the strict sense of the word. Consider how a young girl will toy day after day with a child, dance with it and sing to it; and then consider what a man, with the very best intentions in the world, could do in her place.” Quote from Arthur Shopenhauer, 17th century philosopher
