One of the roots of today’s (kid’s, young adult’s) problems. No wonder everyone is crying, offended and hurt when they read an opinion that’s different from their own.

You can’t tell someone she’s fat, you can’t tell someone his work sucks (wait, nvm, it’s just a boy so who gives a s~~~), you can’t tell someone he/she should be open to criticism, because that would hurt their precious feelings!

Everyone gets a trophy, everybody wins, even if the other team slams you with 20 against 1, it just means that you were NICER and more COMPASSIONATE than them, and that’s worth a medal, right?! Who cares if your goalie sucks, or that your striker can’t play for s~~~, it’s all about playing the game, not winning, and in the end you all go to a pizza place to celebrate playing while your coach dies a little more inside after each loss.

I am so sick and f~~~ing tired of today’s world, and I’m only 33 years old…

That would be fine if it were a rule that the people who say it actually followed themselves. You can still be cutting , by keeping it “nice”.

Why do you want to tell someone they’re fat? I get what you’re saying, but in most cases, the confrontation isn’t worth it. If ‘forced’ to, I will, but generally speaking, a woman’s weight is never going to become a topic of conversation.

And it’s not about her feelings, it’s about her vindictive nature. If I’m asked and I have something constructive to say, and she has proven to be receptive, then I’ll let it go. Otherwise, I will smile and keep my mouth shut. It’s not worth my effort.

I think this is somewhat overblown. From what I’ve seen kids are very much aware of the score, and know the difference between a participation trophy and first place trophy. That said, I have seen coaches (son’s current coach) make excuses for losing…implying the other team were bullies and crap like that. It wasn’t even the kids fault, the coach was absolutely horrible.

On the other side, you can take it too far. While my ex and I were separated, my ex step son was playing little league baseball. The team sucked, and they stopped really caring about it. They were happy win or lose. The coaches decided that this was bad and told the kids they need to feel bad about losing. Seriously, you’re going to tell a kid they should be feeling bad? My ex-step son was dealing with his parents separation, and you’re going to tell him he should feel bad about losing a little league game?

Ok. Then do it.

That was not a forced situation. Yes, took the opportunity to point out a double standard, but typically something I’d avoid as it’s not worth the trouble.

I’m 6’3″ as well. It doesn’t come up often, but when I am asked my height does, I will usually also volunteer that I also have rather larger hands and wear a size 15 shoe. It’s fun to watch her start to process that as her imagination starts rolling.

Assault is assault. It’s one thing to tell someone that you disagree or that they are an idiot; it’s another to scream in someone’s face, the latter being assault. I saw a road rage incident where one individual, instead of letting an “oops” go, followed the other drive into a parking lot and screamed ( and I mean SCREAMED! )at him and beat on his window for about 10 minutes. I told a law enforcement friend about it and he said that the victim was probably justified in shooting the asshole.

Consider the seemingly innocent compliment “I love that you’re so tall!”. which is often followed by “I only date tall guys ( like you )”.

She thinks she’s saying something nice – but it isn’t.

What she means is “I f~~~ing hate short guys and I refuse to date them”.

When a woman says “If you don’t have anything nice to say… don’t say it at all”, she just giving instructions on how to be as slippery and backhanded as she is – begging you not to tell her the truth – because she’s weak, and doesn’t have the b~~~~ to be direct.

She will say something “nice” which is actually masked hatred and evil.

So don’t ever feel bad about telling a woman she’s fat right to her face.
HONESTY is a courtesy she will never extend to you.

It all depends on whether or not you think HONESTY is a COURTESY.

That’s why @nerevar (and SO many men!!) are so f~~~ing fed up with it and can’t stand that expression, because they consider honesty, directness and integrity to be a VIRTUE.

Yes, it’s still true “some things are better left unsaid”., but if the general message in society was an honest one which says “YOU’RE FAT. THERE IS NO POIN’T IN SUGAR-COATING IT BECAUSE YOU’D PROBABLY EAT THAT TOO”….. instead of “fat is beautiful at any size”. then the world (and their mentalities) wouldn’t be so upside down.

In the days of mySpace (about 10-12 years ago) that’s when it all went rapidly downhill for them. It was everywhere. “F~~~ you” selfies and even pictures like that on dating site profiles… where you would think someone would put their BEST face on.

Until then, I had never seen that kind of insane behavior.

Because it’s cool to be the “I’m a rebel, you have to deal with me in the way I’m, and I can say f~~~ to who I want”. I don’t know what those c~~~s have in their sick minds, but desperately trying to be something like that just to get some attention, is so stupid, but lets wait until the next level of attention whoring.
