I need help and advice please.

So today I decided to change the oil on my humble murdercycle, a 1997 Suzuki GSF1200. It’s an easy enough job, although getting the oil filter off requires a special tool ( which I do have). The problem is that the oil filter is sitting directly behind the exhaust and this makes it real hard to get that tool on and off the filter. So in true McGuyver style, I said f~~~ this and improvised. I took a hammer and screwdriver and plunged it into that oil filter as if I was nailing Jesus Christ himself to the cross. This gave me a better angle of attack so I was able to unscrew the filter from the engine block and continue with the job at hand. I did spill some oil on the floor while doing this.

While I was laying down on the garage floor, getting at the oil pan drain plug, I stared out onto the street and noticed my wife’s car pull up a block short from our house. It was not unusual for her to come home late like that as she works some strange hours and she tells me her boss sometimes makes her work back at short notice. I watched her car sit there for a good five minutes while the oil drained out of the bike and then I saw a man get out of the passenger seat and walk off.

Now I’m really worried and need some advice from you guys.

The house I am living in is a rental and I don’t want to lose any of my deposit. Can anybody suggest a good way to get that oil stain off the garage floor before it really soaks in and is permanent?

Dammi! have you tried using rice to soak up the oil don’t know if that would work but that was my first thought, would be curious what others think.

Try sawdust…Then wash the floor with detergent…

There are good fat removers on the market. Those sold for the kitchen to clean off pans from burnt grease.
In Germany, I would recommend “Bref” or “Cilit Bang” Fat removal cleaner.

Apply that to the oil in abundance and scrub it in. Then use the garden hose to flush it away.

Paint thinner and gasoline also mixes well with oil and takes it out of concrete.

Do it fast before it is soaked in too bad and repeat until the spots are gone.

And it even makes dirty PC circuit boards look like new. Apply and brush it in with a paintbrush.

To get rid of the oil. Take some liquid dish soap.

Cover the oil stain. Let it soak in. Rub it in with a bristle brush. Gentlely. If your arm is tired you did way to much. Think mixing, not scrubing. Then wash away with a hose. Repeat as needed. May take 3 times but will remove it.

That is how I clean car oil stain out of driveway.

I had to clean off an entire shop inventory off of oily and salty wood preservative fogging. And I made my special mixture as a cleaner.

Concentrated household cleaner + Dish cleaner + Alcohol + water…

If that garage floor was sealed it would just wipe clean but it’s really pourous so any oil stains just stay there. I have tried degreaser which I am hoping will not dry to be a different kind of stain. Owning an old LS1 powered car with a rear main seal leak, you get used to oil stains but I leave that thing parked on the street !

Best advice I can give you is to make a chalk mark on the floor, roughly 3′ by 6′. Get a pick axe and chip away from the mark inwards. Then start digging a hole. Go down around 6′-8′. You’ll need pick axe and shovel combo. Then find that certain person that you don’t like. Use pick axe and shovel. Use your imagination after this point.

Pour yourself a cold one.

Don’t worry about losing yer deposit, as it’ll be the least of yer worries.

Cat litter soaks up oil rel well. Then you can clean the stain with simple dish soap.

Nitric Acid. OR Muriatic Acid. either One will work just fine. And any leftovers can be put in a tub to dissolve the stray human body part that might be laying around.
