In my opinion, I think you already failed when you went into a job that relied on HR c~~~s to get a promotion. But, you might not have discovered the horror that is HR c~~~s before you got the job.

I would never recommend a man to work in such an environment; either go into a field dominated by men (physics, engineering etc.) or go self employed.

If the above is not possible then try to find an employer that understands how useless c~~~s are in general. They are difficult to find but they are worth the effort to find.

CEOs don’t want competition […] Sadly, when it comes to protecting your CEO position it’s all fair game, and the last thing you want is somebody around that could run you out.

This phenomenon is what one author described as ‘An ever decreasing spiral of incompetence’. (It was either Parkinson or Laurence, I can’t remember which).

Fearful of being ousted, managers won’t hire anyone equal to or better than themselves. When they go, their replacement hires someone even more stupid. And so it continues until the whole show finally collapses.

    YOU DID NOT FAIL!
    They failed.

Damn right C-Pig. I would become a small business owner, but that is a 24 hour a day job.

Not getting a s~~~ty job simply makes you available for your dream job.

Why not do both for the time being? Another iron in the fire at all times means you won’t CARE if you don’t get a job.

A “job” is only something you need to make enough money to do the things you WANT to do when you’re not working for someone else.

JOB = JUST. OVER. BROKE anyway.
That’s where they want you. To keep you “just over broke”.

So take a “job” even if it’s not the right one – and – have your little business on the side. Then eventually you can afford to pick and choose. You can afford to not answer questions like “what are your weaknesses?”. You’ll be interviewing them instead because you have choices.

A man is not “rich” when he has money.
He’s rich when he has CHOICES.
The poorest people are not poor because no money.
    They have the fewest CHOICES.

Jus concentrate on creating as many opportunities for yourself as possible, and you won’t care if you didn’t get that job. You’ll be able to finish an interview and not care if they call or don’t call. And even when they DO call, you KEEP creating as many opportunities for yourself as possible … because they are only paying you to DO it. They aren’t paying you to LIKE it – or stay.

    That costs more. Much more.

A “job” is only something you need to make enough money to do the things you want to do when you’re not working for someone else.

    Still think you “failed”?
    Not a chance.

Other employees have seen blatant nepotism in the WIC department.

Women form bitch-mafias. Once you get one in, they start levering in their friends and relatives. After a while, they are able to force everyone else out.

You have said it before and you are correct!

    Still think you “failed”?
    Not a chance.

This is why I like you guys. You put some real perspective on this situation.

How awesome would it be to answer an HR question about you’re salary requirements like this??

“I get to name my own salary? That sounds like fun! How about a million-a-month??? I imagine you’ll want to talk me down from there. But I’m open to negotiations, depending own how good your coffee is.”

I just can’t bring myself to take the question seriously.

That would be awesome! I still like the idea of telling them I don’t discuss the size of the diamond before the first date. That will p~~~ them off, but what the hell kind of question is it in the first place to ask a man how much he makes?

Exactly. Toying with an answer to a stupid question is actually a great way to see how THEY respond. Always interview them too.

I once had a job for 9 years because I cracked a joke. I swear that’s what got me hired. A JOKE. It wasn’t my resume because I didn’t have a good one. And it was an offensive joke. But the air was so dull and gloomy that it broke the ice and worked. The boss said he never laughed so hard. The best laugh is one they are not expecting.

    Go figure.

So if you can’t have a little fun with the question “what are your salary requirements?”, I wouldn’t want to work for them. If they don’t want to hear “A MILLION A MONTH!!!” then they shouldn’t ask.

“I REQUIRE A MILLION A MONTH. Would you like to talk me down from there?”

“Well seriously, we’re only authorized to offer a certain…..”

“Then why did you ask ME.”

If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.

I have actually left interviews making them look STUPID.

    So have I.

On one occasion I had an HR c~~~ actually follow me into the street.

She asked what my “salary requirements” are before meeting in person.

That’s straight out of a management textbook. You find the interviewee’s level of expectation and then downgrade your offer accordingly.

Thats’a good sign!! Did you get it?

No matter what she says, my only response would be “What response would get us another interview? I only work with professionals. Are YOU??”

Even somewhat of an argument right off the bat can work out positively. It’s not a bad sign to have a little friction.

Either way, not getting a job is not a failure.
It’s a failure for them to not be able to find the right person.

They placed the ad. You didn’t.

She was genuinely shocked. Evidently her course textbook didn’t cater for a scenario in which someone rejects THEM.

I told her that no-one in their right mind would work for her organisation and walked away.

That’s the female playbook too. Same reaction in any social situation when you turn a woman down. Right? Except a woman can be reminded we don’t have to like each other to WORK TOGETHER PROFESSIONALLY.

    • So being “shocked” is unprofessional.
    • Her questions are unprofessional.
    • Her inability to comprehend that you are interviewing her too – and can easily walk or reject her offer – is unprofessional.
    • Asking salary requirements is unprofessional.
    • Asking you to talk about your weaknesses on a day when you expect to be presenting and recognized for your strengths…. is worse than unprofessional. It’s unacceptable.

    That’s all they are!!! Unprofessional.

Use the word “professional” before they do and that will shock them too.

I told her that no-one in their right mind would work for her organisation and walked away.

That’s WORTH not getting a job for. Nicely done.

So much wisdom to be gained here from various experiences. The common theme here is refusal to sacrifice dignity for whats likely going to be a miserable job anyway. It seems that folks here refuse to be exploited or sacrifice their principles. I wonder if being MGTOW has made them this strong? Damn right it has. Luckily the market economy provides alternative choices, at least whats left of it.
