my job is teaching children who would rather sit and visit and play x box all day.

I used to like my job. Not today. probably not tomorrow.

A boy had to make a paper box for a math problem. Finding volume of a paper box.
All he had to do was put tape on the paper and fold it up. then count the squares.

put a 1/2 inch piece of tape on a piece of paper.

12 years old. can’t fold piece of paper. but he can run like the wind playing soccer on the play ground, make hurtful comments, and whine to his momma when life is hard. he accused me of swearing at him in class, but he swears at me in Spanish all damn day.

My job security is dependent upon the behavior of spoiled children who can not stand up in line properly.

I was stressed out today giving a state test. last time we were there for testing, one child shorted out an electrical socket and started a fire. I knew something like that would happen. I was seriously ill, unable to eat, and felt even worse when I got home.

kids are rude, no respect, make nasty comments, and accuse me of racism. I can’t teach in that environment. All through 200 hours of teacher training, I never saw such a s~~~ show. my boss complemented me today, the yelling in class has been reduced. Thanks boss for that little nugget of love.

The women I work with are c~~~s of the first order. I am excluded from many insider meetings. I keep a behavior journal…it takes me 2 hours a day to fill out.

I do this for take home of $13,000 a year. My things have been stolen and broken, there is junk all over the floor kids wander no matter what I do, I am s~~~ upon. It’s my fault little Juan is all f~~~ed up in the head.

I am a babysitter. I have to keep these kids separated. These kids don’t do homework, but I cant fail them.

Tomorrow, I will be s~~~ upon again by 8 kids. I cant separate them, they can be sent away for 15 minutes at a time. I have to write up papers, make phone calls, and it completely shuts down the room.

I can’t do what I was trained to do, and I am angry. I wrote a detention at 8:06 this morning. I am done. I don’t want a contract in this town again.

There’s taking hits for the performance of a job to get the job done. Then there is this vortex of s~~~.

I can’t tell anyone at school I feel like this, i’ll be cut.

I f~~~ing HATE kids! I can’t imagine a job worse than that, really I can’t. My recommendation is to move to a town with higher incomes. That way you’ll avoid all the Mexican brats. I recommend teaching Chinese or white American children. They tend to be much better behaved. But honestly, if I were you I’d either quit or stick a bullet in my brain. People suck, but kids are even worse.

When I was taking education classes, I asked every single teacher I came across the exact same question: If you could do it all over again, would you still go in to teaching?

And you know what every single one of them said? No. Hell no. They would never go into teaching if they knew the reality of it.

Hang in there, May. Keep us posted.

The government has made your trade ungovernable. Teachers, true teachers, are THE BEST people. Kindness rules their hearts.

    Common sense resides there too.

I only love my kid. I don’t mind the others.

Hispanic kids are low-IQ. No surprises there. And because their relatives are also low IQ, they pamper them and tell them fluffy things to beat up their ego. It’s all fake.

I’d never forget the many times sitting at South American airports – Lima, Buenos Aires, Santiago – and scores of them would be watching soccer, and then when the goal is scored, the commentator would yell “gggoooooooaaaaaalll!” to raptures of ecstasy from the half wits sitting all around me in the lounge area. F~~~ing imbeciles!!! Hahaha!

hang in there, complete the mission, look for the next contract/career, protect yourself as much as possible. my insurance salesman/financial planner felt the exact same way.

my teachers had graduated college during the Civil-60’s and 70’s. It was special. It was early blue era but we kids had a average old school home upbringing(pre-war era parents) so teachers had it easier at first. The teachers were enthusiastic until the late 70’s. The education puppeteers and the disastrous family blight of child rearing took the living life out of them.

I tried some teaching, meh, it wasn’t for me. lying thieving pre-adults and it only takes a couple to spoil a good gig.

most cops and teachers get high respect from me because I wouldn’t want to do what they do, ‘in the trenches’ for sure.

You described pretty well why I can’t stand kids, and Mexicans; they’re rude, disrespectful, uncaring, bratty little s~~~s who can’t amount to anything and they’re proud of it. I didn’t even like kids back when I was one.

As kids we were hard to teach and I got lumped into the bottom groups for everything. I left school with nothing but a woodwork grade.

Years later I enrolled in adult education. I lapped it up, got a distinction, and went onto a degree in German. Got a 2:1. Could have got a first but I was partying hard.

What I wanted to say, was that of all the teachers I was under, two stood out. One was a math teacher who had re-educated himself to teach after being a blue collar guy.

He took the time to work with the kids if they needed help and didn’t humiliate them in class if they got something wrong. I always remeber him and think kindly of him. The other was a smokin’ hot french teacher who would wear short skirts and make sure the young boys could see up it when she crossed her legs in class.

That was the seventies. No one gave a dam and the teachers could hit you, throw things at you, or c~~~ tease you all day.

I s~~~ you not this is really true.

To finish I’d say that in my teens I wasn’t ready to learn and schooling me was a waste of time. I got into it in my late 20’s. Also, there was a study done on how teachers relate to kids from different backgrounds to them. A middle class teacher will relate to a middle class kid better than a working class kid etc. Study has proved this.

Hope you situation improves. I wouldn’t do that job for any money.

When I went to high school my teachers didn’t really get into teaching too much. Three-and-a-half minutes into the class they just assigned us homework and told us to get started.

I guess that’s how they just handled the stress…

I’m sorry to hear that you aren’t happy with your job. I imagine it’s stressful working with children with poor upbringing.

Have you considered looking into teaching jobs at a community college? Perhaps you just need a change of clientele.
