From all the recent education I’ve attained through this site and others, it seems like;
The 80/20 rule was observed in the past
The 20% of men decided to only take one wife(woman) instead of 80% of them because the other 80% of men had no stake in society and the 20% of men required them to do their heavy lifting too.Hence; marriage
I personally have no real stake in society; no kids, no wife, no owned home (have a portfolio in the market, but $$ is just $$).
So by having no stake in society I honestly have felt that I really don’t give a s~~~ which way the world turnsTrump elected, great
Clinton elected, great
Shooting asteroid coming to kill us all, great
The invention of free energy, great…Doesn’t really affect me personally as my life and lineage end with me.
With all that said, and since I am relatively new to MGTOW (still in my first 12 months) I wanted to see how the others out there who share my perspective find ways to keep you going within society.
If you have nothing at stake, what drives you other than your own personal happiness?
Clinton elected would have had too dire repercussions across all the world, running us into WW3 with the obvious battleground being Europe once more. No thank you.

Probably true…But hardly affects me is what I am saying.
Wars have always come and gone, hard times, etc.
The reason I made this thread is more recently having a hard time giving a s~~~ about anything.
Trump elected, great
Clinton elected, great
Shooting asteroid coming to kill us all, great
The invention of free energy, greatI disagree. Those in charge have a big effect on everyone. Thus, everyone does have something to gain or lose in society.
Like it or not, most society will not leave a person alone.
During the election, Hillary was already talking about drafting women into the military and starting a war with Russia. If that was what she wanted to do against women. Ask yourself what she planned to do against men?
All signs pointed that Hillary was planning to make men, especially white men so expendable in her planned wars to the point there would be no white men left in the U.S., save for those white men belonging to the 1% elitists.
Fortunately, Trump won the election. At worst, Trump will leave the people alone. At best, we could see more job opportunities, better economy, and less government overreach, regulations, and taxes. Meaning you will have more cash in your pocket to decide what to do with your life.

They are still trying to get war started with russia at least here in europe.
Let the war come ill say nothing like a war once in a while to cleanse the world but that is just my opninion.

Sure, it affects me…But I have no skin in the game to really care about it
Send me to war, give me a million bucks, etc…
I don’t know, maybe it’s just a state of mind I’m currently trapped in

I use to have all those things.
But seeing how good people suffer and bad people thrive I had to rework my theories on life.
Sure, it affects me…But I have no skin in the game to really care about it
Send me to war, give me a million bucks, etc…
If you do not consider being sent to war, or receiving a million dollars, to be “skin in the game”? What is “skin in the game” for you?
Because, I would consider either of those two fates to have “skin in the game”.
I don’t know, maybe it’s just a state of mind I’m currently trapped in
If those two fates you listed to not cause you to pause, think, and reflect on your life. You need to do some more soul searching.
It is a matter of sense of “priorities”.

But without being told to have the “skin in the game” like war or millions, I have none.
To me skin in the game means something that makes you want a better future, usually a child gives you that.
To other people having money does that
To others just their family
etcI’ve done my soul searching in the past, it helped with much
Perhaps it is time to wear that hat again and see where it leads. My problem is, I always just end up at the same spot – regardless of location.
…So what drives you?
Summed up in one word curiosity.
The 80/20 rule was observed in the past
The 20% of men decided to only take one wife(woman) instead of 80% of them because the other 80% of men had no stake in society and the 20% of men required them to do their heavy lifting too.You confused me here. In the past only 20% of men married? Huh? Never heard that before.
I personally have no real stake in society; no kids, no wife, no owned home
I have kids, so society matters to me in that regard. I also have a home, but I’m not exactly sure how that matters. You either own or rent, and therefore, the real estate market matters to you.
If you have nothing at stake, what drives you other than your own personal happiness?
Something I’ve been trying to figure out lately. Right now, I enjoy my kids and projects around the house, but that feels like it will ‘run out’ soon. But asking myself what I want to do…with myself. Funny, never thought I’d be asking that question at 44.
Ok. Then do it.

The good thing about war is that it ups our technology. That’s about the only good thing, though.
I really hope we don’t blow ourselves to nuclear waste in WW3, but if that happens, we should leave information behind for the next civilization (not meaning humans here), to tell them to keep their womenfolk on a very tight leash, lest they f~~~ up everything.

No, no men married in the past – and they observed that most men (80% of them) had no chance at women since the 20% had them all
But since the 20% needed the other 80% to build, hunt, etc, they had to give them a stake in their community…Hence, the 20% of men only taking one woman..Leading to marriage eventually
…Or so the story goes, I could be completely wrong.

Hahaha…
Wars seem to improve the medical field as well, or at least the two world wars seemed to.
They are still trying to get war started with russia at least here in europe.
There is a lot of money to be made from war; from the arms manufacture to the banks. Starting another cold war is going to make the some people very rich. I hadn’t realised until recently that the Rothschild family bankrolled both sides of the previous world war. Keep the fighting going, indebt the nation states and make a fortune in the process.

…Doesn’t really affect me personally as my life and lineage end with meI actually really like your perspective. Nothing in life is for certain and having a stake in society doesn’t make it any more certain. You could buy a house with a mortgage but lose your job and your home could be repo’d. You would lose it along with the initial deposit you put down. Unless you are very wealthy us mere mortals will never achieve the level of security we desire. We just merely go through our lives trying to attain it. If we achieve it we are likely to be old, so there is risk we might not enjoy it due to ill health or ring-fencing it so we can pass onto our children. You could also become un-believably wealthy with a massive stake and spend your twilight years on world cruises but nothing is guaranteed.
Those who are super wealthy don’t get off scot free. They suffer from the “burden of wealth”. Now that they have it – they seek to protect it. Sound ridiculous but economic risks (inflation/deflation), taxation, government controls all threaten to erode the value of wealth. It’s a nice problem to have but their stake brings with it another set of problems.
I am not saying your approach is risk free. If you reach retirement with nothing then you have nothing but it seems to me what you don’t have the state will help in the form of welfare (well in the U.K it does anyhow). The harder you work and the more you have the more the state will take off you in retirement. Your guess is as good as mine as to how long governments can keep up this Ponzi scheme rolling for. But in short I just don’t think it makes much difference whether you have a stake or not. Too much emphasis is placed on the rat race. You clearly have gone your own way for a time now and if your direction makes you happy then why change it.
The grass isn’t always greener – speaking from bitter experience on that!Having had it all and lost it, I will rebuild and have further stakes but only for what I need not what I want. You can buy the latest car because you want it but next year you will want a newer one. That then applies to all your material purchases and it just never ends. Working harder and harder to play the consumer game they want you to be a part of. Life is about experiences not a series of purchases. Continue to think for yourself and ignore the BS.

You’re right, nothing is really guaranteed.
But I guess I should say this flat out now, I am not really currently happy
I use to be, or thought I was.
I likely will be again, or think I willNot sure of anything to be honest.
But therein lies my problem I suppose…I use to be so caught up in chasing women that it made me feel good every time I succeeded.
I use to be so caught up in a career until it completely f~~~ed me over and (VERY long story, completely out of my control) now have little ambition left…not to say it can’t return given the right opportunity
Use to have so much faith in family being the ones you can always depend on, until I witnessed what went down with my dads siblings in 2016.Just seems like every bubble I had in my mind burst in 2016, and now I’m left in a haze wondering what steps to take next…
But not to dump everything on this board, it’s not really any of your problems…Just explaining the hopelessness feeling along with having no stake giving me no real reason to get my s~~~ together in a hurry
About the 20-80 rule observe how women in some countries are treated and remember that everything happens for a reason….
But I guess I should say this flat out now, I am not really currently happy

I likely will be again, or think I willSorry to hear that but all is not lost. Sounds like you are experiencing a bit of a void. I went through the same sense of “what’s the point” but recently turned a corner. What you have now is an opportunity most other people can only dream of. You are just at a cross roads and free to take whatever direction you want.
Your most basic needs are warm shelter, water, food and keeping clean. Providing these immediate needs can be met, the rest really is just irrelevant. You may still be judging yourself by other people’s expectations. You are totally free but there is no rush to do anything. No need to compete. Take time out for yourself and explore life at your pace. Do not be in a hurry. Read, learn and re-engage in new experiences. It will all become part of the melting pot of enjoying life.
I am in a similar situation to you (except I have son). I positively ignore all social pressures from friends/family etc and will just do things when I am ready. The economic and property cycle will always go up and down so don’t think you have missed the boat. In 2006 everyone thought the party would never end and then we all know what happened in 2007. You will have an opportunity to have a stake in society (if that is what you want) but it will be your terms.
Stay positive my friend. You have some good people here to help you along your journey.

Thanks NS.
I just gotta find exactly what it is I want to do, and what will make me the most happy in the long term.
My real needs should all be taken care of, so long as I can keep making $$ to keep a roof above my head, which isn’t the hardest thing right now.
The first challenge I face is finding my new ambition…I know it will come, just have to find the best way to achieve it.
