I really don’t like DS9. I liked it for the world building aspect of it, but I didn’t like any of the characters other than Worf and Jadzia a little bit. The casting was horrible. I loved TNG and Voyager.

The original series just looks way too old for me. I’m 26 so it came out 20+ years before I was even born. It’s really corny. I love Kirk, McCoy and Spock and I think the casting was done really well on the TOS, TNG, and Voyager.

But the characters are just freaking horrible on DS9 and I hate the look of the Cardassian technology. It looks like 90’s technology. The Defiant is nice and modern looking, but whoever designed the Cardassian technology did a horrible job.

Sisko is a HORRIBLE actor. He got better around the 6th season, but he still was never very good. His son Jake was a much better actor. Kira was probably the second worse, followed closely by Ezri. To be fair, Ezri wasn’t on the show for very long so I’m sure she would have gotten better.

Let me put it to you this way. I NEVER not even ONCE felt that ANY of the main cast of TNG or Voyager were acting. On DS9 I felt like that constantly from EVERYONE from varying degrees with the exception of Worf, Odo and Quark. But freaking hell, I felt Sisko was acting in pretty much every f~~~ing scene he was in. He bugged the hell out of me.

I love the original series but I dislike anything that came after—not because I’m a snob but Next Generation, Deep Space, Voyager, Enterprise ARE NOT the same as the original. WHY? Because the latter incarnations are designed to appeal to women, not men. They are completely gyno-centric. Don’t believe me? Fine look at the facts and evidence.

In the original series there were professional women but there were also bimbos; I challenge anyone to find a single bimbo in any of the series after the first. All of the women are the feminista type man-wannabes, and notice how men were CONSTANTLY turning to women and their “deep” profound wisdom to bail them out; Gina the bar-tender, Troy the councilor. Ever notice how the men are all stereotypes:

    Picard—the daddy
    Will—the big brother
The doctor’s little boy—the little brother
    Jordi—-the Beta orbiter nerd
    Data—the gay friend
Worf–a woman’s take on a tough guy—which is why they SOOOOOO delighted in feminizing him by introducing his kid.

90% of the episodes deal with “family” “children” “feelings”

Sorry but only the original was any good—everything that followed is CRAP. Want more proof? Take a look at the fan produced episodes Star Trek Phase II in particular the episode involving Kirks nephew Peter. It took them exactly 5 minutes into the episode to have him butt/ass f~~~ed and making out in his cabin with some other guy—yeah gay sex.

Now Star Trek continues is OK and the keep the PC and gyno-centrizim in reasonable check but it is still there.

    don’t agree

Picard wanted nothing to do with women
Riker = Chad who f~~~ed anything that moved
Geordi was a blued pilled simp
Data – LOL at gay friend, Wesley was the gay one
Worf = bad boy who wasn’t interested in women until Dax

Anyway i was getting into carving and building timber aussie star trek ships . The first prototype half completed and it will be a meter long . On the front of disk i was going to NAME IT the AU MOTHERF~~~ER 6969 .

Damn Blade, do you do mail order?! I’d like me an Aussie wooden carved motherf~~~er ship.

Nice dream, but you do know that logically, this would not be possible unless they had artificial wombs with them.

Ha thanks, anything is possible in Star Trek! And people have been working on it for a while so I bet it will happen one day. Here’s a rather cool design from 1954:

I hate the look of the Cardassian technology. It looks like 90’s technology.

I thought that was kind of the point though? That it was meant to be grungy and horrible, a big contrast to the clean look and feel of Federation technology. But I see your point, and tbh when DS9 first came out when I was a teenager I didn’t like it at all. Then I came back to it in my late 20s and got a lot more out of it.

I felt Sisko was acting in pretty much every f~~~ing scene he was in. He bugged the hell out of me.

Brother, I think I know what you mean. I like his acting myself, but it is quite dramatic and affected; I think Avery Brooks comes from more of a stage background than a film/TV background, and that means he comes across as more hammy on screen. Sometimes you can see the veins popping out the side of his head. So I can see it is an acquired taste.

will just post this red pill from Odo[quote]

Ha YES I always loved this red pill even when I was blue pill! I never really liked the Odo/Kira romance, but then again I never really warmed to Odo, and there’s something depressing about him going back to the Founders at the end, I thought.

[quote quote=770875]Data – LOL at gay friend, Wesley was the gay one

Wesley always made me cringe, but I’d never thought of him being gay. Come to think of it, though, is he wearing a Pride jumpsuit here?

There aren't holes in your pockets. It's called marriage.

I am an old ( I mean really old) ST fan – I saw the originals and if that’s not everryone’s cup of tea that’s fine.

Having said that, the worst acting and storylines have to be from Voyager. The trash bin of sci-fi right there.

The best of all the ST series – in my opinion – was DS9. The ‘human’ element and great acting (besides the known overactors) was nothing short of a great all round performance. If you are older you will appreciate this much more than the other series.

TNG was so-so. It depended on two or three real characters for content – Pickard, Data and (yes) Q. Everyone else was expendable.

The reboots are good to as long as you don’t compare. I’m glad they do the series justice.

    Peace.
