Youtube-dl is a good python program to use If you are using linux. I don’t know If you can use it with MS unless you are using powershell. Youtube-dl can also download playlists, convert clips into mp3, well just RTFM.

This program does need to be used on the terminal, but the options are almost endless, and it works for a lot of sites hosting video content. And mpv works in correlation with youtube-dl

My thoughts exactly! Man I so miss XP. I could configure that and see what was going on. All my old games played on it as well.

I don’t want big stupid buttons to press, I want menus, Logical file systems, ability to set my own security.

If they hadn’t turned off XP I would still be using it in some form now.
I got the impression with WIN10, that it was a free upgrade because the data they sold of your browsing paid more than the retail price of the software itself.

That’s what UNIX and it’s clones are good for. Best operating system variant to have when you want total control. I actually can’t really live without it anymore, or else I start getting agitated. Although it’s not much of a games platform and historically has not been.

The problem with Windows XP is that architecturally it’s ancient. But there’s no reason that Microsoft couldn’t have put that look and feel onto a current build of Windows NT.

Windows 10 is also designed to railroad you into a subscription service in the future, in which you will use software as a service. Which is basically just the mainframe concept reincarnated. I’m not feeling that. I want my files on my computers.

windows 10 has taken a lot of ideas from linux in this case. Workspaces, split screen, and the rolling release model. And Win 10 being free isn’t a new idea. From what I’ve heard, MS has done the same thing with their XP model for China to entice people to buy MS OS in the future.

Meh. I’m just giving my two cents on this. It’s good to have comedy.

No Worries man. It may turn out to be a push in the right direction system wise.

I like your threads and especially like the avatar of the MK1 Tiger!

It just seems to be rolling inexorably towards the viewer with a “Get the F~~~ Outta’ my Way” vibe. 🙂

    Not even Chad’s dick?

No, she can have this guy’s dick:
    Pig Guy

She will be too busy struggling to pull her head out from under this guy’s belly droop before she suffocates to bitch anymore.

Good advice Rennie, and I appreciate your knowledge regarding Unix/Linux.

Unfortunately I’m not Monk so still need to get some things outta’ my system every now and again. Free Porn sites aren’t ideal (I usually stick to PornHub), but my imagination is limited.

If you don’t need them to be completely unclothed. You can find lots of potential material outside of porn sites. You can also read peoples fictional and non fictional stories if you need to enhance your imagination.

Anyone has any info on OS X for desktop ?

I will be going from Win 7 to new desktop system and from what i hear Win 10 is a huge step towards Idiocracy that 15 years ago appeared only in movies.

Or any other alternatives really, not being control freak in time we live is just stupid.

It’s basically UNIX with a highly flashy user interface and the things needed to have a fully functional desktop environment. It can be kind of top heavy and sluggish as a result though. So make sure it has plenty of RAM.

Very few Linux desktop environments are bad like Windows 10, but the best part is it’s relatively easy to get rid of it and replace it with a new one.

Sure, they tell you it’s “free” now. But even if they don’t start making you pay for the system directly, they’ll find ways to extract the revenue, either through bombarding with ads, or making you pay to get back features that were in Windows 15 years ago. It’s not truly “free”. Microsoft is a business after all.

I recommend youtube-dl as well, as you have a lot more options and don’t need to load up your browser with bloat extensions.

You should also consider hardening your OS to prevent future attacks:

If you’re not a complete dumbass and spend the few hours it takes to learn how to use Windows then you won’t get viruses. Block ads. Get a decent free antivirus. Windows 10 is annoying and has its downfalls, but it’s a much better and more stable OS than Windows 7. The built in mail, news, calendar, and weather apps alone make it worth switching. Windows 7 feels dated and 8 was a disaster. 10 is what 8 should have been. Windows 7 is severely outdated and even though major security holes will continue to be patched until 2020, mainstream support has ended.

Windows 10 has built in antivirus. Load it up with a decent processor (one from 2012 or newer) and an SSD and you’ll love it. If you’re still on a hard drive, it’s time you got with it and upgraded to an SSD. It’s a night and day difference and doesn’t cost much.

I’m a computer repair technician and while I don’t expect people to understand the underpinnings of an OS or how to fix things, they should at least learn how to use the thing. That’s like buying a toaster and being all mad at it when it electrocutes you because you tried to get the bread out with a metal fork instead of raising the lever. THAT’S A DUMBASS. Learn how to use the damned lever and you won’t get electrocuted.

Now like all appliances it will eventually break and that’s what people like me are here for. I don’t know how to fix a car but I sure as f~~~ know HOW TO DRIVE ONE! Don’t blame the automobile manufacturer because you don’t know how to drive the thing and don’t feel like learning and just want it to drive itself. Sorry bud, but it DOESN’T WORK THAT WAY.
