We didn’t reach any firm agreements, but we made some headway.
So, there’s going to be a Round 2? Will you have to pay another $5000 for that?
As for her unpreparedness, it helped you during the first round but what about the second? Will the mediator still impose decisions despite your ex not having the required information on hand?
Oh, and she broke the strict confidentiality rules by discussing the negotiations with her “support person”. That is going to come back to bite her.
“Support person”, ugh. We’ve that s~~~ too on our side of the Pond. It’s mostly animals here. Brain dead women pretending they’re special snowflakes by claiming they need the constant presence of dogs, cats, guinea pigs, emus, moose, etc. simply to leave the house and waddle to Starbucks.
I’m very glad to read she screwed up by sharing confidential information.
It sounds as if you’ve fed her enough rope to hang herself a couple times over.
Thanks for sharing your experiences and best of luck in Round 2.
Heh. Support emu. I’ve dealt with those f~~~ers up close, and they are not to be messed with.
So today the inevitable email arrives:
“I felt intimidated by you and your lawyer…”
“You didn’t acknowledge my emotional distress….”
“How could you be so cold and calculating??”
“The kids are going to hate you for this…”
Ha. Hahah. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!1!!
Cancelled joint accounts, health and life insurance policies and mortgage payments today, and told her she has until Xmas to put the house on the market.
This just gets better and better.

Have a Bootle of scotch or what ever for afterwards. There is always a price to pay for freedom.Good luck.See you on the free side!
Thanks Old Sage, I’ve already organized a night out with the kids afterwards, and a catch-up with an attractive, intelligent, recently-divorced hottie the next night. Life is good.

DUDE… Really…. Just jumped out of the piranha tank after losing 20 lbs one tiny bite at a time and then jumped into the shark tank while bleeding. Gonna have to call you Bones, cause after the second time around Bones will be all that’s left…
It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion, it is by the beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shaking, the shaking becomes a warning; it is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion.

All good, there’s a mutual attraction there but she’s c~~~-shy at the moment so we we yakked about life in general.
Despite my experience, I’m not a laydee-hater; they have their uses. I will never live with or knock one up again however.

Do not respond to it and forward it to your lawyer.
“I felt intimidated by you and your lawyer…”
Translation from C~~~ish: “You lawyer is better than the cuck hack I hired.”
“You didn’t acknowledge my emotional distress….”
Translation from C~~~ish: “Why haven’t you mentally crumbled as I planned?”
“How could you be so cold and calculating??”
Translation from C~~~ish: “My fee fees trump all facts.”
“The kids are going to hate you for this…”
Translation from C~~~ish: “I will make it my life’s mission to savage your reputation in front of my children.”

That’s it brother. Put in the boot.
I can’t wait to read about Round #2.
Do not date. Do not impregnate. Do not co-habitate. Above all, do not marry. Reclaim and never again surrender your personal sovereignty.
Colleagues, I have the similar question about mediation.
I’m totally confused about the necessity of meditation.
My new girlfriend takes matters into her own hands and I’m flooded with her advice. She showed me a lot of articles about importance of legal support, like this:
http://www.pibriefupdate.com/content/law-journal-summaries/news-category-2-53514/3786-in-a-position-that-requires-legal-support
So I’m going to have a solicitor (I’m from UK and solicitor is some kind of lawyer).Should I also have a mediator? Maybe better have a private mediator?
I’ve read the point from some of you that it should be a woman.
Any other recommendation?I don’t want to beat the air, I just want to finish it very quickly!
Myself and the ex both had lawyers, but we got implacably stuck on financial and child issues, so I asked for mediation to be set up.
She initially didn’t want to do it (its not compulsory where I’m from) because she knew that the longer the issues went unresolved, the more she would benefit (I was paying her mortgage and giving her access to my income for 5 years after she kicked me in to touch… I know, I know, blue pill mangina).
Eventually, I dragged her kicking and screaming to mediation.
Female lawyer mediated, we both had lawyers there to advise.
Cost me about $5000 USD for the day (I am paying her legal fees….)
Initially I thought it was a waste of time/money, as we didn’t sign off on anything, but eventually she stopped making ridiculous requests and we agreed on things about a month after.
tl; dr version: definitely worth it in the long run.
Avoid the courts; they will slaughter you if the ex turns on the waterworks (which she will).

What? $5000 for the day? That can irritate for sure.
Thank you, brother, you’ve saved me from the wasting of money. Now we both have a new partner, so I think I can avoid throwing a good money.I hope you are happy and free now!
Despite my experience, I’m not a laydee-hater;
What’s that supposed to mean?
are you a chia pet in man drag My ex told me that she agreed to mediation.
Then she prepared with her lawyer.
Then she said “no” by omission, to mediation.IOW she used the lie of agreeing to mediation to have more time to work with her lawyer against me.
I look back now and remember that it was one of seven lies. So I’m much better off without her.
“Truth binds one to reality”
"It seems like there's times a body gets struck down so low, there ain't a power on earth that can ever bring him up again. Seems like something inside dies so he don't even want to get up again. But he does."
My last meeting with the mediator is next Tursday. At $2,500 each it was a relative bargain. Quick too, only 6 weeks from the first meeting to the last. In about 4 months it will be official. Even though the mediator was female, she stuck up for me and is making the ex offset $26k of the $40k in debt I am eating. The house went on the market yesterday, and should sell within a month. I got lucky I guess!
Sovereignty above all else.
