This is a serious issue, and I think nobody accepts pedophilia or rape lightly.
That is why women use it to lie, because it has unanimous condemnation, and therefore it is very effective.
And exactly because it is serious, the law should be more careful when condemning someone. It cannot be done just because someone says so, without physical evidences.

If I was to report my daughter to the police, saying she stole my car, without any evidence, then I would achieve nothing, even if it was true. And frankly everybody would condemn me for accusing my own daughter!

Ahhh, there is nor error here! We cannot know for sure if the guy is guilty or innocent. But we know for sure that his life is over, even if he did nothing.

The only conclusion is that no man is safe if he includes women in his life.

Sidecar is right. The abuse only stops when you get too old for their fancy. This story doesn’t fit the pattern of child abuse. It would have continued until puberty most likely. Also, Sig Hanson would have been abusing other kids in the neighborhood like his daughters friends etc.

That is not always true. They are very good about picking their victims – vulnerable children, children who are isolated, children who have no one to tell, would be too afraid to tell, no one would care etc.

Having said that, this case needs evidence before I am willing to condemn this man.

I’m not. Based on the FACTS of this case there is no way in hell this accusation is true.

Guilt or innocence is based on the truth of the accusation, not the severity of the accusation.

What if I’m right, but in this latest double jeopardy round of making the same tired old accusations a feminist jury idiotically decides to “believe the women” instead of the FACTS and decides against him? Should he be punished for a lie just because that lie is of something reprehensible? If Sig was so shrewd and calculating a pedo then why was he accused so immediately 25 years ago? The fact that those accusations were made and made so soon after the events supposedly happened, shows that either he’s not all that shrewd and cunning a predator after all, or that he’s actually innocent.

Regarding the references to ‘double jeopardy’.

In the US there is a legal difference between a criminal trial and a civil trial.

A person can go through both and it is not double jeopardy.

Double jeopardy would only apply if someone went to trial for a criminal case, was acquited (found not guilty) and then recharged with the same crime and brought to trial again.

This is the first time that the alleged victim is taking him to civil court, as an adult.

When she was two years old she was unable to hire an attorney. Her mother sued him as the plaintiff in a civil case.

So technically, it is the first civil case: Filed by the alleged victim as an adult.

And I’m not defending her. He already voluntarily, outside of court gave her $300,000 to keep her from pursuing things in a civil court.

And she only filed the current civil suit, immediately following Sig going to the hospital for a heart attack. Which indicates she was up to date on his health and wanted to file a civil suit while he was still alive so if his condition got worse and he died, the attorney handling his estate in probate court would have to settle her pending case at some point.
