OK gents – this post isn’t about bashing feminazis or wimmenz. This is the internet version of sitting on a fine leather chair, in a study with mahogany bookcases, whilst drinking brandy and smoking cigars and looking like the Monopoly Man.
Basically, for the last year I have been working on my own company (in engineering) and I am branching out to provide a service in terms of tutoring and sharing STEM skills.
But, the uptake is slow..in fact nonexistent. It’s frustrating and a massive bash to my ego as I feel as though I am qualified and experienced enough to do this, but I haven’t even managed to get one sale or customer so far.
I therefore call out to the MGTOW entrepreneurs, businessmen and other savvy folks to point the direction to either some damn good marketing advice, offer some sort of consolation or sharing of “start up woes” or basically even just come into the “room” to congratulate ourselves on being the Masters of the f~~~ing universe.
Yes, I am feeling a bit grumpy, frustrated and require the company of aspiring gentlemen to help me rebuild my ego. I did raise a similar post some time ago and a few of you were kind enough to get in touch to pass on some words of advice and encouragement. Throwing man pride out the window, I am writing again to seek that out once more.

When you possess something of value. Most of the time it can be scaled up of down. It depends on whom you understand you serve.
That is one of the concepts, intentionally fogged up by “experts”. The process to understand what I just gave you for free took 17 years to discover. You’re welcome.

I took an online course and started doing research on company and personal branding. I don’t know if it really helped with my business but it filled my time and gave me a new perspective when I needed some positive perspective in my company life.
S~~~ just wasn’t falling into place…. (pre-marriage I had a company and it was working great than that bitch got involved and I let her run it into the ground) Now the second time around I hit the wall trying to get things up and going…. things are starting to turn around and each morning I start the day focused on what my brand is and how I am going to present it.

McDuncie / Mr Stealth – thank you for your replies so far.
Another aspect I didn’t mention before was that I don’t go out and do stuff / spend money because I am not making any to replace it. So I am in “hoarder mode” and so it becomes a vicious cycle. I haven’t been to the gym in weeks / maybe 2 months and my usual high levels of self motivation have completely tanked.
I try new ways of making my brand / informing people about the products. I have tried the whole Twitter / Facebook business page and have recently started direct emailing. Although out of nearly 100 emails just this week, I have had 1 reply. SO that’s not even a guaranteed sale, just a “meeting” that has potential.
To me, it feels like once I break even and make enough to pay my bills, etc, a lightbulb will go off in my mind and I will suddenly find myself re-energised and back to my usual self. My initial target is very low in business terms – a mere £500 a month. This might be what, $700 with current exchange rates? Anyway. The ego getting crushed is because I can’t even make that relatively “small” amount per month. Yet that would be a massive improvement for me and I just know everything will pick up once I make that. Anything more just becomes fantastic.

McDuncie, this seems really profound to me (genuinely) and if you have the time, would really appreciate this being elaborated on. I can see there is a nugget of wisdom there, but I can’t quite unravel it myself?
Marriage? No thanks, i'm not ready to be THAT miserable.

When I began my career in sales, my mentor advised me to read Tom Hopkins book: HOW TO MASTER THE ART OF SELLING. In my opinion this is the “Bible” of sales training. I hope this information is helpful.

Will check this out – Amazon Kindle is only about £5 which seems like a bargain. I thank you for your suggestion. Will let you know how I get on with it!

Well you will find a million and one people out there who tell you they can get you hundreds of lead though social media or some other marketing-very few actually can. That is the first thing I would say.
Sit down with a pad and a pen and work out exactly what your offer is and who your target market is.
Then look at the competition and what they are offering.
Work out your pricing and how to position yourself.
Once you have done all that then start to think about how you communicate your offering to those targets.

Hi SMAD,
provide a service in terms of tutoring and sharing STEM skills.
This does not tell us much.
Are you selling your services online or in your local market? Are you selling to college students, young professionals or corporate clients?
You’ve probably heard of an “elevator pitch.” If so, give us your elevator pitch so we have a little more information to respond with.

Hi Hominid,
Thanks for getting in touch. I agree, my original description is somewhat vague (as I didn’t want to put everyone into a coma with the details.)
In terms of more detail:
* I offer online tutoring in Science / Engineering. The potential range being from schools up to graduate level (making use of the PhD!)
* Industry visits to schools / colleges
* I am creating a workshop with a membership that gives access to E-Books I am writing, learning materials and access to future webinars, etc
* Funds I generate from the workshop are non-profit: funds generated by this part of the company is to support the workshop, purchase learning equipment (computers, 3D printers, etc) and cover travel costs.
* Potentially this workshop could have customers around the world. If there was enough interest, then I would happily travel to visit schools / colleges etc.I know its not an “elevator pitch” – this is something I need to work on as there are alot of aspects to it.

Do you think this might be the crux of your current problem — trying to do too much too soon? Consider picking the service you want to offer that is the most ready to sell, and launch it. One specific thing to one specific target market.
It may sound silly, but your elevator pitch should be as simple as “Hi, I’m SMAD, and I sell all-beef hot dogs to office workers this five block area.” Think of your elevator pitch as a super simple business plan, one that not only you can digest easily but, more importantly, one your prospective clients can digest as well.
I’m in the start-up phase of my own small business, so talking about this is important to me too.
Good luck!

That is another excellent point. I am incredibly ambitious and whilst that serves well in many ways, perhaps I am being over complicated at the moment?
Perhaps my elevator pitch could be crunched down to “I run a STEM Workshop for schools, colleges and aim to inspire the next generation.”
I’m in the start-up phase of my own small business as well, so talking about this is important to me too.
That’s great to hear! Another fellow entrepreneur! What is your business aiming for?
Marriage? No thanks, i'm not ready to be THAT miserable.
My business will make and sell a very specific, classical architectural detail in styles that no other manufacturer currently makes. My target market are DIY homeowners.
I’m going about my business backwards. About nine years ago, I started a DIY blog on how to design and install historic architectural details. The blog is very popular and is the largest and most visited one of its kind. So I have a very large audience already, but I’ve never had anything to sell to my readers.
But now I do. I’m still working through my production process and setting up my small shop, but I’m almost done. Two years worth of work and I’m almost there. Thank god, ’cause my day job is soul-sucking!

Sounds like you definitely have the start of something awesome, Hominid! I am totally the opposite in sense of market, I am a very little fish in a big pond but I feel I have a product / service that could really help lots of people.
In regards to the whole soul-sucking part of conventional work, this is another reason why I set up by myself. If it *really* comes down to it, I will get a corporate job and be a slave to the machine, but I am hoping I can make my own way and do things on my terms – even if it means I don’t make as much as a conventional path.
Are you looking to take on staff as part of your new business, or are you hoping to go solo and enjoy the peace / solitude of not having anyone to be responsible for, etc?
Marriage? No thanks, i'm not ready to be THAT miserable.

I won’t have any staff, only contractors for various tasks like product photography, accounting and most importantly, warehouse fulfillment.
The lesson I learned from my last small business was to outsource every single thing I can — rather than wearing ALL the hats — while leaving the core work that no one else can do (and the most enjoyable part) to me.
You can wear all of the hats for a while, maybe a year or two, but then you’ll just burn out. I’m not going to let myself burn out this time.
I’ve hired staff before, and I want no part of it again.
I think I stepped into the wrong room. I’m a sucker for brandy.
Know when it is your duty to give them zero explanations for your actions.
I’ve hired staff before, and I want no part of it again.
That’s interesting because part of me wants to run my company solo, but also thinking ahead that I *might* need help somewhere down the line for a few things once it all gets busy.
Or I am thinking that I might use apprentices / work experience people to offer “free” / cheap labour for when the time is right haha!
Like yourself, most of my company business is about selling what’s in my mind so, other people will either tarnish “my name” or would just be a support role to free me up to do what I need to do.
I think I stepped into the wrong room. I’m a sucker for brandy.
The brandy is flowing and there is talk of business – feel free to join us. I am sure me and Hominid would appreciate the input of other self employed / entrepreneurs!

Maybe I mentioned this to you last time…. but “content is king”, and you can also “buy traffic” which someone in the field can help you with. You can even place an ad (for free on craigslist) for someone to help with that.
But let’s say you’re getting visits and people are googling your service and field of interest. As long as they arrive on your site, you can RESTRICT some content to only being PARTIALLY visible unless they subscribe and join.
• You can give SOME content away.
• You can encourage them to join and get more ( like a starter course ) by joining the site.
• And for advanced chapters, have them upgrade to be able to watch / read the whole thing.Alternatively you can buy some advertising in places and on websites that have more traffic than you.
We have a few book authors that want to promote their books here and they get a nice amount of exposure (also known as “impressions”), visits and clicks. We can add a section to help out someone like you and link to your service.
We have a f~~~-hundred things to do first, but it wouldn’t be TOO much trouble for us to add a “business card” here (instead of a book listing) for you which links to your services. In fact, we are going to be offering this to upgraded Ghost and Galt members eventually, so they can promote their business, product, skills or services.
An attorney in British Columbia who specializes in family law in the men’s best interest has approached us about that too.

Hi KM,
Indeed, we had a great discussion previously and I took on board many of the tips you suggested. Still finding things a little tricky though and I definitely looked into the Stripe / restricted member only content and implemented that, so thankyou.
A large part of the service I want to offer in the “workshop” will be available globally (as I will be writing E-Books and content) and so it could benefit anyone, anywhere (provided they are interested in STEM of course.)
Ultimately, I would like to create full blown lessons / module courses which would add to the product arsenal but small steps first – getting members for a very small amount per month to get the ball rolling, before going for the big stuff!
In fact, we are going to be offering this to upgraded Ghost and Galt members eventually, so they can promote their business, product, skills or services.
As discussed last time, this sounds like a great idea! Although I would be interested in seeing how this would be implemented. As much I enjoy MGTOW philosophy, etc, I would still like to keep privacy / anonymity and in public, I “ghost” somewhat. Plus, with feminist hackers and potential lurkers, it would only take 1 to “track down” a MGTOW member and potentially ruin their businesses.
Would the Ghost / Galt membership mean only other Ghosts / Galts be able to see each others business details? I mean, what if a “lurker” intentionally signed up, paid for upgrade for the specific vindictive intent to tarnish businesses? I know that sounds like crazy cynical talk but, I am sure the 21000+ brothers here have seen plenty of crazy s~~~ to know that this is a potential reality.
Marriage? No thanks, i'm not ready to be THAT miserable.
Would the Ghost / Galt membership mean only other Ghosts / Galts be able to see each others business details?
We could, but that would limit their/your exposure. Our non member/ visitor traffic is MUCH (10,000%) higher.
feminist hackers and potential lurkers, it would only take 1 to “track down” a MGTOW member and potentially ruin their businesses.
Let me be obtuse for a minute.
How?
I know what you mean but, really HOW? Remember when some c~~~ing feminists had a problem with an astrophysicists SHIRT? Well what do you think would have happened if he raised both of his middle fingers to them? F~~~ing nothing. That’s what. They woudld have slithered back into their holes.
Hillary couldn’t even ruin Trump. So you see the point.
Besides, nobody needs to know it’s “you” when your running an online business. You can advertise the business anywhere in the same way. Doesn’t have to be here. NOBODY can stop you from engaging in a legitimate/legal business. It’s against the law.
I mean, what if a “lurker” intentionally signed up, paid for upgrade for the specific vindictive intent to tarnish businesses?
Women are the cheapest features on earth. F~~~ing donkeys will fly out of her ass before she pays for her own $8 glass of chardonnay.
For this reason, no female ever upgraded herself and automatically made herself a forums participant. Why do you think that barrier exists? It’s not to force our MEN-bers to pay $5. It’s because we know a woman wouldn’t. And even if she did, she would be thrown out without a refund for violating our terms of service.
My friend, you gotta regard these miserable SJW feminist/leftists/libtards like f~~~ing insects. That’s all they are.
—
This is a website for MEN. Like you said, for “Brandy and Cigars” and we don’t f~~~ around. You have no time in your life for concerns about what some miserable feminist might do. You’re in STEM. It’s not like they can change 1 + 1 to equal 3. Ever.
