It’s spelled “My Lai”, it was a war crime, and several men in the platoon which committed it tried to stop it.
That last bit is always forgotten because everyone who went to Vietnam was a baby killer.
War is hell and horrific things happen during war. Sometimes by mistake, sometimes out of spite, and sometimes just for the f~~~ of it.
Do not date. Do not impregnate. Do not co-habitate. Above all, do not marry. Reclaim and never again surrender your personal sovereignty.
Is the US perfect? F~~~ no. Does the US try? Hell, yes. Are the Usual Suspects even aware of the difference? You tell me.

The ICC has convicted far more Serbs than Africans for war crimes.
Rather than war crimes, Africans get popped for financial malfeasance, smuggling, drug running, slavery, and other niceties. That’s why those “nations” are leaving the ICC framework.

Name an alleged crime committed in the field by US forces since 1960 which the US did not investigate and, when cause was found, prosecute.
Here’s the bit you don’t understand. The Hague treaty tribunal system exists as a backstop. Nations are supposed to investigate, convict, and punish any of their citizens committing war crimes. The US has done that in the past, is doing so now, and will do so in the future.
It’s only when the nations in question can not or will not investigate alleged war crimes that the Hague sets up a tribunal specific to that conflict which combines the investigatory, grand jury, trial, and appeals process. There is no permanent war crimes tribunal, only a body which determines when specific war crimes tribunals must be set-up.

Also, wars without Congressional approval, and attacks/acts of war on sovereign countries without Congressional approval as well. We have former and maybe even a sitting president right now who has disobeyed the Constitution in this regard. Guys like you remember your oath when it comes to Foreign all the time, but you always seem to look so easily over the Domestic part of it. Just pretend Patriots in my book, ones that I can only assume are making a very good living off it all though.

Oh boy, ok, once again, just a quick search, and of course Huffpo pops up first, I f~~~ing hate them, but just to p~~~ you off I will use the link again even though there are plenty of others on the same topic.
Bombing hospitals is just the tip of the iceberg of U.S. war crimes. If your argument rests on the fact that they never find themselves guilty of anything then we are just going to be going in circles here. I do not wish to spend my time linking hundreds of likely unpunished war crimes here, but it can be done very easily. U.S. wars of aggression are crimes in the eyes of U.N. charter as well. So, basically all I see from you is arguing in favor of something that lines your pockets with money as you made no secret in the past that you make money servicing war. You know, maybe you do this just so you can sleep better at night, and that I understand. Now, the irony of all of this is many here are very respectful Any Rand and Objectivism set forth by Ayn Rand. (seems to me most pick and choose from the philosophy though to serve themselves where needed)

Now guys like you spend their lives justifying the use of force, force to the extent that it literally undermines the ability to have a small limited government. The U.S. Military is the biggest bloated bitch of all time. You literally make money from war so your consistent stance of justification and looking the other way is not surprising. Your opinion on any of it means nothing to me because you come from a position in which you cannot be objective.

The ultimate irony is that I like Oldbill, have friends in the military (they think most of what the U.S. is doing is bulls~~~ though) and do have respect for men who serve. I have lost friends in Dessert Storm, nearly signed up myself. Have one childhood buddy who came back chemically lobotomized from Dessert Storm as well. Have a few who survived having taken bullets. And I just know way to much to be ok with what has been going on since 2001. Patriot? Yes, because do not feel these wars serve my country, nor do they serve the dead friends and families of those lost.

Gotta love not being able to edit after you hastily post something. GRRRRRRR!There are lots of us within our circle of friends and family that served the military service. In my country we were conscripted (drafted) to served for a year (me; the air force). My brother went to Iraq serving the US Army and was among those entering Baghdad. Do any of you think I was thrilled that he put himself in harms way due to LIES from Pres. Bush????? Not to mention all the other places he went to (Balkan etc.). So, yeah, I’m f~~~ing biased when I think the US should just drop nerve-gas and be done with it, cleanly and efficiently, instead of sending the men to fight the goat-f~~~ers, if the control of oil and propping up the petro-dollar is all it’s about. But don’t for a f~~~ing second think I approve of what is going on now.
And about “Chelsea” Manning. If he/she/it (whatever) is killed, it’s plain murder. I don’t care for c~~~s (male or female), but I care for integrity and honesty. At least that c~~~ has a little more integrity than Obummer and Bush have ever had in their’s pathetic life.

I remember a reporter getting in trouble for not revealing their sources during Viet Nam. I can’t believe that I can’t remember the whole thing to describe it here, but the name Anderson pops into my head. It I think it was called the White House papers or something. Anyway, it revealed that we weren’t winning in Nam at all. My brother did two tours over there. I read a book called All the Shah’s Men by Stephen Kinzer last year and it tells the story of how the CIA conducted its first coup against a democracy that was emerging in Iran. Churchill was the PM of Britain at the time, and it was basically done so the Anglo Iranian Oil Corporation could be turned into British Petroleum. I’m sick of these blood for oil wars, too. I used to be a patriot, not so much anymore. Having my due process rights stripped away converted me. I don’t think Chelsea Manning is as big a traitor as Hillary Clinton. Chelsea didn’t get any ambassadors killed. I know I’m going out on a limb a bit as I’ve read everyone else’s posts, but I’m just saying that US foreign policy since the end of WW2 has been a disaster. The only defense of that policy is that so far, we haven’t had WW3 yet, but then there’s always tomorrow.

An armed society needs no standing army. War is about corporate money, plain and simple. Not everyone has swallowed this red pill. Took me a long time and a lot of study to swallow.
The easiest way to swallow it is to accept the fact that nobody does anything they don’t get paid to do. The second way is to recognize that all the “humanitarian” stuff is directed at countries where there are TONS of rare earth minerals or oil.
The third way is to just start a business, and see what happens, which most people will never do, so they will never know.

Wars are always profits for someone.(especially the proxy directors and suppliers) Not asking for any takebacks. And I enjoy you both and your views as well as Yumbo and Jan. Discussion is learning what others believe as well as redefining or reinforcing what beliefs I entertain.
