The question is did these walls work during the time these walls are maintained?

When Roman collapsed, the great public works of Roman eventually fell into disrepair. The tragedy of the high quality of the Roman public works, such as the Roman aqueducts which could run for several miles above ground, was that the public works durable to the point the public works lasted for generations without repairs, just long enough for all living memory of how to repair the public works was lost. So, when the public works start to break due to lack of maintenance, there was no one to repair the damage.

The bet sucks and the amount sucks as well as there is no faith in this bet. Regardless of outcome no real major loss occurs during this bet, we are not in 1960 or before anymore when this bet would have had value (in 1960 the loser would be out 40 bucks in today’s Money). I have at least tried to bet 2k on a Family members Conspiracy theories but he backed out and the only benefit that resulted from him not betting (for me) is i am not gonna have to file an IRS winnings report.

You either fund his steel barrier or continue on with the Gov shutdown. That is the last word.

So Mexico was supposed to pay for it? then the trade deal with Mexico was gonna pay for it? now the Taxpayers are gonna pay for it? if i was in the House or the Senate id be voting no on the wall and there is a way for the Government to start up without the fall getting funded if enough votes are reached (by then i believe even Republicans will want to end the shutdown as shutdowns hurt the Party which starts them).

So there is either Trump loses the next election or he gets impeached either way he might go to Prison which one will you take?

I am not stating you have to lose your life fortune but even some risky bets are still good. This is not about intentionally causing a rift despite a higher bet because you are supposed to be the normal Person who is fine with friendly bets (even if losing means you lose a 100 dollars). The normal way to respond to losing a bet is to hand off the money to the winner without hard feeling or grudges and it appears you would be the one to whine like a SJW if you lost a far better bet.
