There are no cameras in my open-plan office at work, but my male Supervisor keeps a daily diary and has been known to bring things up in meetings… In my opinion, it is under-hand ass-hole behaviour and demonstrates that employees aren’t trusted nowadays. It’s a shame that things have got this bad in the work-place; people are more interested in covering their asses than in getting the work done. Probably because HR is full of evil harpie women!

Thanks guys, I f~~~ing hate it but I’ll suck it up through the end of the year.

Unlike women, I will hold my end of the bargain and be true to my word. In January, I’m out of here!

Is this normal behavior in the civilian world?

Yes it is, very much so. Get used to it.

The “loss prevention” guys are watching in real time so what’s the difference if the owners can watch in real time too?

Do not date. Do not impregnate. Do not co-habitate. Above all, do not marry. Reclaim and never again surrender your personal sovereignty.

There’s a HUGE difference, in my opinion. I don’t work for loss prevention. They don’t write my paycheck. They don’t micro-manage my time. They don’t call immediately because there’s a line at register #2.

There is a world of difference in being supervised, versus being spied on. Unfortunately most managers nowdays have no clue what that difference is.

And no, I won’t get used to it. I don’t have it all worked out yet, but I WILL get out of this three-ring circus FREAK Show which my country has become.

I also dislike being mirco-managed and honestly prefer to work 1 up (as opposed to a team), cameras are part of the employment landscape now as are tracking technologies for company vehicles etc.

Yes, its a standard and people are becoming more and more comfortable with it. I don’t like it, but I learn to work with it for my advantage.

If someone were to make a fictitious claim on me, I’d tell them to go review the tape and see if it matches up with what they said. Sometimes I will give up privacy for security. Once I leave the job site, it ends there and I make sure of it.
