So I was hired by a friend a few months ago, he needed a trustworthy employee and I needed a job. This isn’t a long term career, just a stop-gap until the end of the year. I gave him my word that I would work through the end of the year, as that is what he really needed.
The place of business is covered in security cameras, and for good reason (don’t want to get into details to stay anonymous, I have no doubt a few exes troll here looking for me).
But recently they fixed the ‘bug’ in the camera system to allow him and the other Co-Owner to monitor the store, in real time, on their phones or mobile devices.
He’s already called twice last week to ask about something going on in the store while I was managing and he was at home. I assure you everything was under control, he was just being a bit overzealous.
Is this normal behavior in the civilian world?
Being surveilled in real-time by dozens of cameras in every section of my workplace absolutely creeps me out. I never realized it was such a Red Flag to me until I was. It’s like the ‘nails on a chalk board’ feeling, just knowing I’m being omnipotently watched by someone I cannot see or hear. I have no way of ever knowing if I’m actively being watched or not.
It’s not that I’m doing anything wrong at all, or trying to be lazy or disrespectful. To me it’s a feeling of being extreme micro-managed… even when the boss isn’t at work. It’s terrible. It prevents me from being able to manage.
I’ve spent over a decade in the Military and at War. Leadership principles have been drilled into me since I was 18, and Honor and Trustworthiness are held at an absolute paramount.
It feels sleazy and dishonorable to be monitored in this way. I can’t f~~~ing stand it. Is it just me? Is this normal in the “civilian” world?
Let me add: I have no issues with cameras recording everything going on in the store. That’s quite useful for false allegations, money missing, etc.
It’s the act of being actively watched in real time, without any ability to know if I am or not that really bothers me. It’s like continually feeling someone breathing on the back of your neck. It’s revolting.
Yes–I know a nurse who WEARS a monitor so her every movement can be tracked—-It creeps me out too. F~~~ that s~~~!
Personally, I wouldn’t work under those conditions.
You didn’t agree to be monitored every minute you’re there, and to be called by the “boss’ for every f~~~in lil thing.
Sorry buddy, find someone else, and you can shove your camera up their ass !!

To be monitored is to be controlled. Terrorism has created more orgasms for governments and businesses than even war has. It’s their porn. They can get away with s~~~ they never used to, all in the name of security.
I don't hate women. I just feel better when they're not around.

Anonymous6Yes this is normal. Stop jerking off at your cubicle sir.

Anonymous8Early on at my first job when I was 15 or so I was cautioned to behave as though the walls had eyes and ears. You never know who is listening or watching in a professional environment, furthermore people talk, so don’t say anything to one person that you would not be comfortable saying to everyone else.
As far as cameras go, I would prefer not being filmed but then again I do enjoy watching Loss Prevention take downs on YouTube.
There was a theft problem at a store I used to work at, one of my co-workers caught another stealing and the thief went to the boss first, claiming the one who saw him stealing did it. Were there no surveillance cameras the thief may have been taken at his word, instead the video evidence landed him a felony.
There’s two sides to this coin.
Watching in real time as you describe does sound invasive, surveillance for liability purposes is one thing but to actively monitor it is another.

I totally agree. I actually kind of liked having cameras recording everything, for the exact purposes you expressed. But when passively recording, I felt like they were “Our” cameras, the entire staff and owners to protect against any false allogations, theft, self defense, etc.
But the active, real time surveillance being used is just a dreadful feeling. Like your an animal in the zoo. Like you can’t be trusted. It somehow makes me feel guilty, even though I haven’t done anything wrong. I f~~~ing hate it.
Thank you all for the replies, I was hoping I wasn’t getting some hyper-sensitive PTSD or anything. Glad to hear it’s normal to be creeped out by this.
The ‘Haves’ control your behavior, so you feel you earn honest money.
The ‘Have nots’ earn money and bust nuts into ‘have not chicks’. The haves make your earning forbidden.
The ‘Haves’ then tax the ‘have nots’ to pay for incarcerating the ‘have nots’.
The ‘have nots’ sure get a lot of pussy. For being an earning ‘have not’.
The women whether ‘have’ or ‘have not’ will always be represented. Those women are the uncontested hope of the nation. Ask any court without a jury. It’s a unanimous decision.

Working at an airport you’re under a camera all the time. I’ve seen cameras used inside garages too. AFAIK, it’s legal anywhere where there is no expectation of privacy.
Today, I just assume that unless you’re in your own home taking a dump in your own s~~~ter, behind a locked door in the dark, that you’re on a camera somewhere…
When you see a camera just give it the Walter White finger salute!
Seriously though, modern surveillance systems allow for real time monitoring via off site pc’s and phones. Many operations have an in-house security operations center with personnel monitoring the cameras 24-7. You will get used to the cameras and soon learn where they all are and automatically “behave” when in sight of them.
Yes. This is normal now.
They track everything from which websites you visit to how often you use the toilet.

Anonymous1Yeah, unfortunately this is very normal. I was a repair man of sorts for the schools around my area. All of them had cameras up and down the halls and every which way. My work places always had cameras. Now with all the break ins and robberies even my own home is decked out in cameras. There is no ESCAPE from the All Seeing Eye. I’ve given up, the only privacy I have is inside my own skull…and soon they will find a way to surveil that too.
This is quite common and I know folks who do real time streaming of their property that they watch from work.
This is another example of Internet addiction that people can’t deny themselves. They have the capability to do so and can’t resist. Another easy way to gratify their ego and desire for power.
Thanks for your service, former US Army.

Cameras are literally everywhere, all the time, recording everything. Except on the pentagon on 9/11, or when a police officer murders somebody for not licking their boots. Then the cameras are off.
My work is covered with cameras everywhere and a department full of people monitoring them 24×7. But for my industry this is normal… as much as I dislike it.
Well there are two sides on a coin.
It make bitches harder to make false accusation.
However I read somewhere that in the UK a man got falsely accuse and the police doctored the surveillance video footage to appear slower then normal. He hired experts to restore the video to normal and show that he does not have time to molest as claim by the accuser.
So better get our own bodycam.
There is no magic in MGTOW, just recognition of the truth and logical decision how to avoid dangers. The red pill is but the truth, it is no magical potion. Do not think in this modern world men have no longer have natural enemies, men are prey to women and government.
I have a client that monitors his employees from his phone sometimes. He mainly uses it to see if they’ve done a particular task yet, and to make sure they’re not with a customer when he wants to call them and ask them something. He’s certainly not spying on them for fun. Business owners have very little time and are constantly busy. They don’t give a s~~~ about what you’re doing so long as you’re not jerking off or stealing from them.

Right, the cops will doctor the video, destroy it, or the court will throw it out. Actually, you will never find a lawyer who will sue a cop, or a court that will allow a case against a cop to go through. The system protects itself. Govt is tyranny.
Never been in the military but no way. I would be creeped out too f~~~ that s~~~. I hate being micromanaged anyways.
Please God smite the wicked now
