Back here after a mistake and feeling stupid

So, I haven’t been around for a couple of months, because I got myself caught up in a woman who seemed somehow different. I figured that maybe this one will want a balanced relationship where both are given enough space to do their own thing, but at the same time being supportive. Like, hey, a real relationship between two adults. Maybe this whole MGTOW-thing isn’t for me. Maybe she is different.

What I ended up with was accusations and false assumptions thrown in my face. Followed up by passive-aggressive demands that I change, because I am not what she wants me to be. The whole thing blew up with a long message where she explained how I am masculine, egoistic, controlling and aggressive.

Here I am again. Feeling rather foolish for not listening to you all the first time around.

It seems obvious now. I am supposedly to be cuddly, soft and safe, except when I am not supposed to be. Then I’m supposed to be “bad”, but only when she wants me to be. Hey, this is starting to sound familiar. As I recall this is called reflecting feelings. It almost sounds like she wants to control me. She wants me to be something that I am not.

I am not an order-following, self-loathing, willing slave. I don’t believe in blind belief.

I am a competitive, emotion driven, troubleshooting and highly analytical. Cold or hot as I feel like.

I am disgusted by solipsism. I live in the real world, not in a make-believe fantasy of my own making.

The good news: I didn’t have sex with her and I only met her in public places where she didn’t cause a scene. So, I should be okay on that front.

It’s more likely SHE is “too masculine, egoistic, controlling and aggressive”. You said she accused you of being not what she wants you to be, but it’s not your JOB to be the man she wants you to be. It’s your job to be the man you always wanted to be.

I have run across more and more women who seem interested in recreating the world in their own mind and then trying to find men who will reinforce their belief in this fictional world. This is particularly frustrating when they base their creations on philosophies that are a few decades old. These new age beliefs were in turn were created by cherry-picking from older belief systems until you can create anything you want.

IMO, this is how you get women who believe that the world owes them everything and anything that they want.
