There are only two steps to go and at least one has already started.
They still need to ban free speech so they can silence the opposition. This is happening now with the “Hate speech” and “Hate crime” legislation that will make them able to prosecute people for whatever perceived(see fabricated) offense.
The last step is nationalizing the means of production, which will happen(and has also started) through various means, like regulations and taxes that will put private businesses out of existence, government monopolies (medical industry, utilities, infrastructure, etc) and finally outright nationalization of companies or entire industries, aka “Too big to fail” that will be disguised as saving jobs and the economy (Auto industry, the banking industry, insurance industry, the railways, airports, schools, universities; these have either been already nationalized at least in part).
Tyranny at this point is almost inevitable in the “West”. The question is if it will be of the Communist kind, where the state will crush everyone and fully nationalize the economy, or if it will be of the Fascist kind, where the big corporations have enough influence to resist the full nationalization and thus creating codependent Big Business/Big Government fascist system. In either case a small lot of masterminds/rulers will call all the shots and we have examples in history of the atrocities that result form that. And I’m not even saying this is some kind of conspiracy, since they are not hiding their intentions and even running for election on many of these points (Bernie Sanders anyone?). It is in the political manifestos of the various left leaning parties that are in power right now in many of the western countries, let alone the rest of the world.
So, yes, the future does not look bright. I can only hope it’s still reversible and people wake up in time.

Is there any way for this to be reversed without violence or is that the inevitable outcome? I don’t see many people waking up many time soon.
