  • Top Five Most Foolish Mistakes In Politics This Week.

I rarely ever make such threads at this, but I feel there is so much foolishness that this needs to be catagorized.

Now, to start with, I do not consider just doing something foolish by itself to earn a spot on this list. To earn a spot on this list, the person or people need to know better and still do something foolish.

Before we get started, a special mention goes out to the FBI where this week it has come out that the FBI did do a secret investigations of President Trump while President Trump was in office on false Russian collusion claims that those likely in the FBI knew were fake to begin with: https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2019/01/high-treason-ny-times-reveals-formation-of-active-fbi-coup-against-president-trump-based-on-outlandish-rumors/

But since this in the past this do not make this week’s list.

On the matter of those announcing their running for president for 2020. I do not find doing so to be foolish in of itself. Ambitious perhaps, but not foolish. I hope a die-hard socialist wins the democrat nomination for 2020, and not a corporate shill, that way the election will more likely focus on the issues instead of personal attacks.

    Now, on with the list.

Number Five: A three way tie that are related.

First, another Latin American caravan is coming up from Honduras. The previous caravans hit the wall at the U.S. border with Mexico’s resources being stretch thin taking care of them. The Mexicans are getting a taste of what we in the U.S. have been dealing with for decades and they do not like it: https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2019/01/another-caravan-forming-in-honduras-headed-northbound-to-us-next-week/

One would expect the members of the previous caravans would contact their relatives to hold off on making the journey until an opportunity opened up.

As for second and third it is really something when members of the same organization find two different ways to make the same mistake around the same time.

CNN decided to asked a San Diego news station to do a story on the border wall, when CNN realized it was a pro-border wall story they dropped the story: https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2019/01/stunning-cnn-asks-local-tx-kusi-reporter-for-view-on-border-wall-declines-segment-after-reporter-says-the-wall-works-video/

Around the time, one of CNN’s reporters went to the U.S.-Mexican border to show how things were calm there, to attack President Trump’s push for a border wall, but the reporter missed the point he was in an area where there was a border wall which proved President Trump’s point: https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2019/01/watch-tucker-carlson-absolutely-destroy-jim-acosta-over-his-self-own-at-the-border/

These people are not letting up, and by not doing so they are not allowing the political heat to die down to the point the democrats in congress can get themselves out of the shutdown mess.

Number Four: Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi response to President Trump’s border comments on Tuesday: https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2019/01/creep-effect-level-10-some-dnc-genius-decided-to-zoom-in-slowly-on-chuck-and-nancy-in-walking-dead-inspired-dem-party-response/

When President Trump went on to give his speech his sober and reserved, even many of his critics admitted he was presidential in his speech.

Clearly, President Trump’s speech was not what Schumer and Pelosi were expecting from their pre-planned speech. Their speech was seen as petty, with them appearing to be robotic caricatures of themselves.

The democrats deciding to have the last word has slowly been eroding their credibility to the point that many of their statements are more sad than funny.

Number Three: The French Government deciding that abusing the French People more over the Yellow Vest protests.

The Yellow Vest protests are growing both insider France and around the world. Instead of giving in, the French Government believes in punishing the French people for making demands of the French Government.

The French Government wants to make all protests be given government permits before hand, all names of the protestors be registered before hand, and all protesters to be prosecuted and make to pay for any damage during the protest, no matter if it is their group or the police, or an outside group: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/jan/07/hunt-boxer-assaulted-french-police-gilets-jaunes-protest-paris

This will only make things worse in France.

Number Two: This one make it under the radar, which is troubling. This one is number two and the above is number three, because this actually happened, while number three is mere suggestions.

The UK government has decided the best way to discourage support for Brexit is to abuse the British people with problems that UK government claims will happen if Brexit happens: https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-01-07/latest-project-fear-uk-creates-artificial-traffic-jam-89-trucks-no-deal-test-run

This is worse than a false flag attack, because the UK government is openly and intentionally creating problems to harm the British people.

The project is called, “Project Fear”. Right now it is just traffic jams, but this abuse could escalate and make the British people more hostile to the UK government.

This is psychotic behavior by the UK government in line with the thinking that “the beatings continue until morale improves”.

This type of tactics will not end well.

Number One: Merge France and Germany into one nation: https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-01-11/france-germany-merge-economic-and-defense-policies-create-cross-border

French President Macron and German Chancellor Merkel are barely clinging to power. German elections have not been good for Merkel’s political coalition, and Macron is dealing with the growing Yellow Vest protests.

Basically, it is likely they believe they merge the nations in a backroom deal to make a coalition of government workers and foreigners to maintain powers. Such an agreement will not get a public referendum because such measures will be seen as treason by the nationalists whom oppose Macron and Merkel.

For those whom do not know France and German have a history of being bitter enemies up until about seventy years ago. To give you an idea of the hatred involved, France and Germany used the assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand as an excuse to drag everyone into what became known as World War I. After Germany’s surrender, France was one of the key nations that demanded such harsh penalties on Germany which lead to World War II and the German occupation of France.

This animosity goes all the way back to the French Revolution where German royalists backed the French aristocracy against the French People.

Right now, that hatred as cooled to the point French and German peoples take a stance of living their side of the fence and ignoring each other.

While they are both are of the European Union that was more of a globalist push which the peoples of those nations oppose.

Trying to merge France and Germany into one nation would be as peaceful as a c~~~ fight and just as messy.

The concerning point is that it will unite the French and German nationalists against a common enemy.

Around 40% of the German people do not consider the current German government to be legitimate. While 80% of the French people do not consider the current French government to be legitimate.

The Italian nationalist in the Italian government have already shown support for the nationalists in both France and Germany.

Also, the French people are turning against the banks.

Taking all this into account, the situation could turn back in a number of ways.

As such, this needs to be watched.

Had it not been for massive vote fraud and interference by the alphabet agencies, Trump would have undoubtedly won much bigger.

Regardless of what she may have been led to believe, I don’t see them putting up a dried up prune like Pelosi. Too much like Hillary.

It’ll be a photogenic youngish female, probably with some sort of minority background.

Beto will beat Trump if he his the nominee. So will Uncle Joe.

No way man. I think these are just your heart’s desire but not the reality we’re in. I presume you meant Joe Biden? That goofy sonfabitch cant win against Trump bro. Beto is also too sloppy and funny to be taken serious.
But then again, these are just my opinions too…

Not my heart’s desire at all. I’m just looking at the Dem’s side of the house and trying to figure out who has the “it” factor. For whatever reason I think people love Uncle Joe, and Beto seems to have captured lightning in a bottle for the time being. When Reverend Wright didn’t stick to Obama, I started telling people he would be our President, even before he knocked out Hillary. Same with Clinton when his affairs didn’t stick.

In general, Americans look for a reason to not vote for someone. And when the reason comes along, if it doesn’t affect their candidacy it’s time to pay attention. It’s just my opinion that Joe and Beto can slide through a controversy. Of course, my opinion counts for jack s~~~.

this is the media trying to pump up Pelosi the way they pumped up Hillary. The media is probably going to make a better effort this time. They now realize they f~~~d up when they vastly underestimated him last time. Hillary got so pumped up she didn’t even try. Calling that crazy Pelosi ‘savvy’ and ‘powerful’ reminds me of them calling Hillary the ‘most qualified person’ ever to run for president. Sling enough s~~~ at the wall, pray some of it sticks…

Agreed, and that is part of the stupid of the Dems. They and the media don’t properly vet their nominees. The skeletons don’t come out until it’s too late. Everyone knew who Donald Trump was, and I would argue plenty of people voted for him in spite of knowing about his past.

The chick from Hawaii doesn’t stand a chance. Cory Booker would be a stupid pick as well. Beto will beat Trump if he his the nominee. So will Uncle Joe. Elizabeth Warren can’t beat him either.

Oh the dems are going down that hard core leftist path. If Trump even tries a little it should be an easy 2020 win.

My take: Trump barely won in 2016. The Dems put about the only person out there that could lose to Trump. He won Scranton PA and Flint Michigan because she never went there, and it was just enough to win him the Presidency.

If the Dems aren’t stupid they will beat Trump in 2020. That’s not saying who should win, it’s looking at the map and doing the math.

Doing something stupid on the part of the Dems would include Nancy being their nominee. Trump should be so lucky.

Boy that wall sure sounds like a good idea. Now if we could only build one around the democraps.

I wonder what it is going to take in order to just get this wall built. Maybe other people are starting to see that more people from around the world are going to die here.
    https://www.hindustantimes.com/world-news/in-televised-plea-for-wall-trump-cites-murder-of-indian-origin-cop/story-2vb6PRnCzQ3ynJKEChfV5I.html

And of course their response? Take away guns from Law abiding people. How’d that work for south Africa and so many other places?

Well, at least they caught the woman and men involved.

I know its cold. But I’m glad it happened. Maybe more legal immigrants need to die in order to get policies to change. But whatever.

The one thing I am noticing is that they are not doing the ussal “Oh it’s too bad” like they do with white people.

I’m going to let you in on a secret. There is a very good reason. They knew the anger was about to spill over. I really hope this someone tries to badmouth this. That person that does is going to get a FULL HEAP of what anger really is.

Sadly, more people need to die, and more people need to suffer until they get their head out of their ass. Even with a wall, it won’t make any difference till people change their ways.

You are all alone. If you have been falsely accused of RAPE, DV, PLEASE let all men know about the people who did this. http://register-her.net/web/guest/home

Which is irrelevant as the idea came about from right wingers to force us to buy Insurance from a Private market as Romneycare and other right wingers pushed the same thing and when it comes to Partisanship Republicans have more of it rather then the Centrist Democrats.

Romney…a moderate Republican from Mass…a far right winger? ROFL!!!!

You are more likely to have a Democrat concede to Republicans and vote on their ideas then a Republican doing the same for Democrats.

You mean, like when Democrats used the reconciliation process to push through Obamacare with zero republican votes?

A right wing policy would force us to buy from the Private market at threat of fine for not doing so.

Come on dude, you can’t truly be this stupid. One of the biggest thing right leaning people/groups were fighting against was the mandate…the very fact that the government was forcing them to buy a product from a private company.

Obamacare did not give as a Public option despite the fact they could have passed even Single payer because Obama did not push for it as he never believed (or believes) in it. The closet we ever got to it was Hillary Clinton stating support however even she would likely have flip flopped especially since she could have used that to win in 2016 (and did not as they are paid off).

Well that is funny…here is a video of Obama as a sitting President expressing his support of a public option while he addresses Congress.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZ3hxjPhnPM

Additionally…here is an article from 2009 when the healthcare debate was raging talking about 2 democratic proposals for a public option that got shot down in the Senate because Democrats voted against them. Huffington Post is one of the most liberal sources you can imagine, and even they admit some Democrats voted against it for reasons that had nothing to do with Republicans at all.

    https://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/09/29/the-five-democrats-who-vo_n_303700.html

We got a little closer than Hillary Clinton talking about it on the campaign trail lol. Are you learning this stuff in college? You might want to ask for a refund if you have a teacher telling you this s~~~.

Are you stating People do not willingly take Union Jobs even when there is generally higher wages and benefits despite Union fees and a means of Collective Bargaining?

Yes. Do you know what a right to work state is?

I’m by no means saying nobody ever wants to be in any union, I’m saying some unions suck and yes, people do refuse to join when given an option.

and the fact is as i mentioned Reagan the Union buster came in and reduced their power but also opened up to sending Jobs to China in so called free trade,

Well point 1 I’m ok with unions having limits on them, like I said, if a union is optional and beneficial people will want to join. If its there and it sucks but everyone is forced to join, how is that good?

Point 2…you s~~~ on Reagan for supporting free trade. Obama and Hillary supported free trade. You’d rather vote for Hillary even though she supports a policy you are s~~~ting on Reagan for?

Trump obviously does not support free trade. You s~~~ on Trump’s policies. You don’t even make any sense lol.

So you are against payment of Workers pensions despite many People working in the Government for decades? what is the Conservative solution? to cut the Pensions of those who worked decades for the Government even in important positions? but also it is not deception to have People working knowing they would get a Pension and then it to be cut out if not completely getting rid of it? the People you talk about with their Pensions worked for them.

I would cut them severely because…

Which was their fault for not increasing Taxes then.

They should pay for the consequences of their actions. If they actually funded them when they were working I’d be happy for them. The fact that they didn’t fund them and now demand payment is bulls~~~.

Do you know what happens to private sector pensions that run out of money? They collect a fraction of their benefits from an insurance payout. Government pensions should be treated the same.

Then America will continue to slide from number 3 to lower in the World (it lost the number 1 position awhile ago). More Unions equals a stronger Middle class and the busting of Unions has had a negative effect on it.

You just can’t get it through your head that some unions suck. If a worker is given the option of joining a union with a defined union pay scale and benefits package, or given a non-union option with a pay band and benefits package…how is it bad for the worker to be able to choose which one will benefit them the most? Like I said…if the union is good for them, they’ll pick it.

I consider major offenders those who seriously injure or kill People which is far more likely to be done by right wingers.

Well unfortunately for you, that isn’t what defines a fascist and I’m not going by your made up bulls~~~. Sure radical right wingers kill more people each year, but there are a hell of a lot less of them. You’ll get that one radical right winger who shoots a few people for political reasons and he’s in the headlines for months…but in reality its just one fascist. A few thousand antifa rioting, burning, looting, beating people, burning s~~~, etc is a few thousand fascists…hence there are a ton more fascists and a lot more fascist behavior on the left.

Obamacare was passed with 0 Republican votes.

You are more likely to have a Democrat concede to Republicans and vote on their ideas then a Republican doing the same for Democrats.

Dropping a public option wasn’t a concession to Republicans who didn’t vote for it anyhow, it was a concession to moderate Democrats.

A right wing policy would force us to buy from the Private market at threat of fine for not doing so. Obamacare did not give as a Public option despite the fact they could have passed even Single payer because Obama did not push for it as he never believed (or believes) in it. The closet we ever got to it was Hillary Clinton stating support however even she would likely have flip flopped especially since she could have used that to win in 2016 (and did not as they are paid off).

people would willingly join them and union jobs would be the most competitive to get.

Are you stating People do not willingly take Union Jobs even when there is generally higher wages and benefits despite Union fees and a means of Collective Bargaining? and the fact is as i mentioned Reagan the Union buster came in and reduced their power but also opened up to sending Jobs to China in so called free trade,

Pension payments are one of the biggest line items in the state budget right now

So you are against payment of Workers pensions despite many People working in the Government for decades? what is the Conservative solution? to cut the Pensions of those who worked decades for the Government even in important positions? but also it is not deception to have People working knowing they would get a Pension and then it to be cut out if not completely getting rid of it? the People you talk about with their Pensions worked for them.

then they didn’t fund any of them as they wanted to keep taxes artificially low.

Which was their fault for not increasing Taxes then.

Bust Unions? Cut taxes? Yes please!

Then America will continue to slide from number 3 to lower in the World (it lost the number 1 position awhile ago). More Unions equals a stronger Middle class and the busting of Unions has had a negative effect on it.

Wanna talk about attempting forceful surpression of the opposition since Trump has taken office?

You mean as some random Jews get shot for being in a Synagogue at the wrong time by some right winger? or what about other acts of violence done by right wingers that result in death then by left wingers in our current time? Antifa is more likely to be Assholes who block traffic, commit property damage and to try to fight People but the fact is right wingers are far more likely to murder People then the left wingers are.

I can tell you the major offenders aren’t right wingers, they hate Trump, and they ironically call themselves anti fascists.

I consider major offenders those who seriously injure or kill People which is far more likely to be done by right wingers.

    I think abortion is another term for murder of unborn babies;

It’s the only legal elective medical procedure that terminates a human life other than the person getting the procedure. It should be mandatory for rape and incest victims and women over 35 dumping hundreds of thousands to get goblin babies. It should be mandatory when we know the kid is only ever going to mentally function as a large house pet.

I do like that millions of would-be single moms elect to not string men along for lifetime child support. Kind of a mixed bag.

    I want all non white people to leave America; I love Trump with a passion (no I’m not gay);

I don’t care about demographics. I care about ideas. That said, the majority of black America runs on pre-Civil War white redneck culture. If we kill the welfare state, everyone will step up and you won’t care about demographics anymore.

    I hate seeing people with tattoos, anime-colored hair, piercings that are not in the ear and nose rings;

I don’t. Poisonous animals employ colorful markings to signify the danger.

    I think healthcare is a responsibility not a right;

Your health is a commodity. Healthcare is a service–you are using someone else’s specialization and time, you owe them something in compensation. This isn’t China.

    I’m very pro military and if I had enough spare money just laying around I would donate to the Wounded Warrior Project, they deserve it;

Our veterans programs are shameful, but we give an average of 57k a year to illegal aliens just for crossing a damn knee-deep river.

I stand for free market capitalism (except Amazon, they can drop dead and let the rest of the retail market survive).

If and only if it is completely free of government interventionism and regulation. You can only have a monopoly when the government, who has the monopoly on legal force, is involved.

Personally I would like to take America back to a time when men ran the country and women would stay at home taking care of the house and kids, and back at a time when getting a job wasn’t so complicating and people actually achieved things easier than now.

Honestly, I just want women out of the work force unless they’re in that 4% who can actually do the job. The rest show up, wear shear clothing, fish for attention and compliments, slow down productivity, get in the way, and will literally sleep their way as high up the chain as their looks will take them. Hashtag not all.

    I know there’s 2 genders (the liberals think there’s dozens);

I hate it when liberals try to change people’s gender by making them transgender, including little kids.

Gender is just a social construct…unless you were born with the original sin of twig and berries.

I believe you should be able to say Merry Christmas, and call the tree the Christmas tree instead of the Holiday Tree.

Christmas has become a secular holiday anyway. Literally none of the iconography, customs, or decorations associated with it have any religious significance anymore. Just enjoy it like Halloween and stop being a miserable prude.

Personally I think liberals, progressives, and feminists and socialists have greatly harmed this country while conservatives try to do what’s best for the people.

Conservatives have done their share of harm. Remember that it was Phyllis Schlafly who blocked the Equal Rights Amendment under the banner of traditional conservatism and how the ERA, which was a mere two states short of being ratified, would cost women unearned privileges and protections (such as immunity to the draft).

I am on my own side. Both liberals and conservatives have what TFM coined as the “gynocentric blind spot.”

iMickey503 writes: Odd that you have to make a choice. I guess everyone likes parties.

Many people DON’T believe in parties. I’m one of them. Below is a quote from George Washington’s farewell address. Two centuries ago, parties were called ‘factions’. And he viewed them VERY negatively and essentially argues they lead to dictatorship:

“The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders and miseries, which result, gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual; and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of Public Liberty.” -George Washington

Now, I am ‘libertarian’ in my outlook. So, we believe in small government — an extreme political position — most of use believe government should comprise less than 10% of total economic output. Now, there is a ‘Libertarian’ party, but I’d vote for ANYONE who favors small government and enumerated powers, regardless of ‘party’ label.

Clearly, the ‘Left’ believes in Big Government. I do have one question about the ‘Right’ to ponder. If the ‘Right’ believes in ‘small government’, why has government GROWN in spending and regulation, even when the ‘right’ is in power? Did the ‘right’ not pass the Medicaid drug benefit, the Patriot Act, and bailouts? Does the ‘Right’ reduce welfare to urban residents? Does it even BALANCE THE BUDGET? Does it reduce welfare (farm subsidy payments) to rural residents?

As for me, I believe your ‘vote’ should be multiplied by the NET TAXES paid over your lifetime. So no voting age. If I’m an entrepreneur, and make a million dollars at 12 years of age, you subtract out the spending on me by public schools and other services, from the taxes I paid, and multiply by lifetime taxes paid by my ‘vote’. If I’m 40 and have collected disability for the last 15 years and only worked part time, no vote. Problem solved. And ‘taxes’ paid on a ‘government’ income job DON’T COUNT since the taxPAYER pays their wages/salary. If you’re BELOW ZERO net lifetime taxes, you get NO VOTE… So ‘public workers’ would generally NOT VOTE. True stakeholders = private sector workers who pay for this s~~~show.

And no, there is no more ‘polarization’ than in the past. Read a newspaper from the 1800’s — especially the savage political cartoons. If anything, there is LESS polarization in terms of ACTUAL policy; the right loves mandated social security; so does the left. The left loves medicare and medicaid; so does the right. They also both love foreign military adventurism, the drug war, etc.

Dark Kenshi writes: I am an Anarcho-Capitalist. F~~~ the state, f~~~ the state thugs (police), f~~~ all that s~~~. Personal responsibility is the only way.
That s~~~ system we all are in is completely bulls~~~. Left, right, it is just one and the same, it is all designed to enslave us, so f~~~ that.

I am not a slave. No masters, no gods. I go my own way.

    I love anarcho-capitalism.

Faust for Science writes: It is no longer “left vs right”, which is a false two side dichotomy. What it is now is populist vs globalist.

This is another important set of factions. And NEITHER believe in the primacy of the INDIVIDUAL or limited government with enumerated powers.

Pres Trump’s strong point is the economy and budgeting, this is the democrats weak point.

Haha, under Trump and his Republican minions, the deficit has BALLOONED 17%. So step away from the TV and the Faux News. The Republican tax cut, will have only short-term benefit because it was NOT accompanied by spending cuts — so it just adds to the deficits and debts…

If you want high growth rates, you SHRINK government so the money can go to the private sector which truly does ‘create jobs’… Something Dems and Republicans WON’T do. And sorry, tariffs will NOT help the US economy long term; read about the Great Depression. Tariffs MAY be useful short-term to negotiate better trade deals but I am questioning even that based upon what we’ve seen so far.

I would argue another important division is also ‘rural vs urban’. That is certainly the case for Yellow Vest, Brexit (think London financial district vs rural and/or industrial Britain), and Red-Blue factions in the US as well of course.

Ranger One: I’m against guillotines. France is a s~~~hole country not because of ‘globalists’, but because government spending is 56.5% of economic output. The French protesters still want free s~~~; they just want someone else to pay for it. So in that, they are no different than Americans, and most assuredly, no friends of Liberty. Remember, they are protesting high taxes, NOT high spending by the public sector.

I voted for Ross Perot in 1992

So did I. But it turns out, Ross Perot owned EDS, which was the consulting firm that won the bid to print welfare checks. He forked the election. If he won, he was President. If he lost, he knew Clinton’s policies would make his rich.

Trump, also a business man, also forked the election. If he wins, he’s president. If he loses, he gains so much attention, and has a twitter base to sell to – most probably XFL football on his newly created network, would be my guess.

When the hammer finally drops on the corporate media, it will not be a question of “who”, but more a statement of “the line forms to the left”.

lol, now that is a hell of a line!

The line will wrap around the Earth at least TWICE!

    https://www.politico.com/story/2019/01/10/trump-white-house-urging-allies-to-prepare-for-possible-rbg-departure-1096102

The White House is reaching out to political allies and conservative activist groups to prepare for an ailing Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s possible death or departure from the Supreme Court — an event that would trigger the second bitter confirmation battle of President Donald Trump’s tenure.

The outreach began after Ginsburg, 85, on Monday missed oral arguments at the court for the first time in her 25 years on the bench. The justice, who was nominated to the court by President Bill Clinton in 1993, announced in late December that she underwent a surgical procedure to remove two cancerous growths from her lungs.

The White House “is taking the temperature on possible short-list candidates, reaching out to key stakeholders, and just making sure that people are informed on the process,” said a source familiar with those conversations, who spoke on background given the delicate nature of the subject. “They’re doing it very quietly, of course, because the idea is not to be opportunistic, but just to be prepared so we aren’t caught flat-footed.”

—————————–Kavanaugh hearing was a real s~~~ show, Just think of what this one is going to look like. DemocRats will burn down the Senate chambers before letting Trump name another.
