Scamming is not really what is going on. Like it or not, a TON of border agents are dirty. So the wall just makes that problem lesser to a VERY SMALL DEGREE.

Like it or not, Everything is a back door deal. But you got a choice. If you don’t like mafia’s in New York? Then f~~~ing move.

Like it or not, the s~~~ that goes down there is solely due to people allowing it. If they did not allow it, it would go away.

Exactly. Eliminate 2/3 of Federal agencies entirely, cut the bloat out of the remaining 1/3, and let us keep more of OUR money. Some Federal agencies do important work but even among those, there’s a lot of waste. I have a relative who used to work for a Federal agency and he had a Federal vehicle to use for official business. His agency had a policy of replacing these vehicles every few years, even if they still had a LOT of life left (I think the policy was 3 years or 70k miles, both of which are nothing for modern cars — especially when they receive regular scheduled maintenance, as these all did). The “surplus” vehicles were sold at auction for a fraction of what they’d cost the taxpayers. In fact, many people in the agency bought “their” cars back and drove them for years thereafter as personal vehicles.

If a border barrier wasn’t effective, why do you suppose so many people who want to have good security have one? Trump doesn’t have to give his SOTU from the House (although if he wasn’t invited, that would make the Dems look very small), and can give it from either the Senate or the White House. Trump loses very rarely, and he’s not backing down. When the welfare checks don’t show up next month, let me know how long you think that the situation will remain at status quo.

One final point is this. The wall WON’T WORK. The Great wall of China didn’t keep the Mongols out. So the stupid wall of Trump won’t keep persistent illegals out either. You can go UNDER, OVER, AROUND AND THROUGH WALLS.

Common sense should tell you this is a failed plan. A republican majority couldn’t do it! And now he wants TAX PAYERS! Us! To fund it? With ZERO PLAN to force another nation to pay for it? Some phony trade deal that Noone has seen?

You make a lot of good points. Like I said we are definitely in unprecedented territory here.

Heres one more thought for you. Trump doesn’t know HOW to back down. But in his situation he can’t just run to another contractor or “fire” congress. The dems can only use this to continue to paint him poorly and he doesn’t care.

Eventually people will see that. This is an interesting stalemate. It does however prove that Trump doesn’t know how to make deals at all…

And one final thought, I still don’t understand how a guy like him has convinwhis base that he cares about them. Do you know anything about NYC Real estate? It’s a mafia out here. These guys are thugs! And Trump is one of them.

I guess we’ll have to sit back and wait and see. I’m just waiting for the whole system to implode and take all this entire system down with it.

What I don’t get is why the news repeatedly shows illegal immigrants making their way over the border. Everyone knows about it. Trump keeps talking about it, and has sent troops there. So why does it continue while the people point and gape? Where are the tanks?

And as far as tunnels are concerned, we have the ability to send the Hubble telescope into another galaxy and send back pictures. Oh, and by the way, the $5 billion for the wall? That’s a one-time expense. Not like the s~~~ the Dems are asking for. Those are expenses that recur year after year. We should be looking for ways to use technology (and a fence is technology) to reduce year over year expenses. Not add to them.

Oh, and most of the illegal aliens end up here on expired visas. You know what? Great! Those are the “good” illegals that you talk about all the time. The one’s that slip across the border 9 months pregnant and s~~~ out an anchor are the one’s that use all the resources. And a 9 month pregnant chick is going to have a tough time with the wall. Plus it stops the coyotes that get paid to bring people over the border and march them out through the desert for 100 miles. Build the wall, and then when those f~~~ers try to dig a tunnel, show up on the other side with a cement truck and fill it in behind them. Problem solved, no more tunnel.
