I can see that but the only Policy he did that i support is the Prison reform other then that he lied about being almost a Centrist Democrat especially with his coming budget for 2020 in where Medicare, Social Security and the other Social programs are getting cut despite his bulls~~~ promise (which helped him win) that he would not cut it. The way Business works is the Management can strip the assets from the Company for their own personal use (increasing the debt and likelyhood of folding) my best example is of Toys R Us to while the Investors tried some bulls~~~ blaming the Young People for not having the Kids the actual reason it fell was a Leveraged buyout in which Private Investors used debt to buy the Company, profit off of the debt and walk away scott free without a load of debt on them (it was the Companies debt despite them causing it).

But I’m fine with a 70% tax rate on income over $10 million a year. It might slow down the raping of companies by the upper management.

The problem with it is it does not go far enough and the rich will still be able to buy Politicans to cut taxes again. So while they have to go into shadier s~~~ to dodge that tax we still have Oil Billionaries happy to contribute to both Republican and Democratic parties.

And let me take a minute to explain the reason for the state tax deduction. If you don’t give that deduction, then you are double taxing someone. Let’s say I make $10 and owe $1 to the state in taxes. Without that deduction, I am paying federal tax on $10, even paying tax on the $1 that went to the state. So on the money I pay to the state I’m paying more than a dollar in tax on that dollar.

That certainly seems to be the case doesn’t it? CEO’s used to make like 50 times that of the average worker back when the top tax rate was 90%. Now it’s something like 900 times the average workers. However, I get paid bi-weekly and I saw an increase in my net take home of 100 dollars per pay. So adding 2600 to the tax return puts me at 4100. So if my math is correct, Trump’s tax plan enabled me to keep 1,100 more dollars of my money in 2018. We’ll see what 2019 brings in.

Which basically says by having Unions/Living wage Car Companies have to pay more unlike in China where they can be be paid for less giving the Chinese an advantage due to reduced labor costs? what i have to say his yes there are increased labor costs but at the benefits of more Americans rather then the CEO’s even if there is an increased cost to buy a Car (which Regulation also keeps it up as they must build it according to them).

But after that (aka our current system with it’s free trade and everything) the cheapest car one can buy new (the 2019 model) is a piece of s~~~ Nissan Versa which goes for about 12,000 and despite the low price of it the fact is most People in this Country would have to put that on a Lease to buy it and one of the biggest personal Economic lessons is that buying new cars is a waste of money as it goes down in price and eventually ends up as a 500 to 2000 dollar car on the Internet. And for a personal example of that back in 2000 the Car i drive now was worth 26k but i bought it for 3k last year so if i bought the car in 2000 and sold it in 2018 i would have a loss (at minimum) of 23k which excludes the repairs and inflation.

The government, the people, have no say in these decisions, yet it is our money that is lost.

Since the bailout is over (aside from the common tax breaks) there is no say anymore but in the future they can be changed if People voted those with the anti bailout sentiment into Office and if they stick with their guns.

Why is Jeff Bezos allowed to have his own money? Because he earned it. He worked, took risks, invested, etc.

Because the System f~~~ed up and did not tax it at a high enough rate to where Jeff Bezos is no longer very rich but now mega rich while there are homeless vets, a s~~~ Healthcare system, s~~~ Education system etc which is far more important to deal with then letting Bezos keep a 100 billion dollars. Also he is a crony as f~~~ Capitalist who demands tax breaks and cuts to build his Warehouses and HQ’s and wanted the tax payers of New York to pay for his Helipad (despite he is the richest man alive or was before his coming divorce rape).

I never said Ford was 100% clean, nor that they never took any bailouts. I was referring to the most recent bailout and it’s impacts. I don’t have any issue with corporations leveraging their financial benefit to a city when seeking tax cuts. And yes, GM has made bad decisions since the bailout, which only adds to the reasons I don’t want them or other corporations given bailouts. The government, the people, have no say in these decisions, yet it is our money that is lost.

Calling it retarded doesn’t answer the question. Why is Jeff Bezos allowed to have his own money? Because he earned it. He worked, took risks, invested, etc. Why should he be more responsible for paying for other peoples needs/wants than those people themselves? Why do you think the government should just take money from him, but not from you? I’m no fan of Bezos, but the idea that we should just get the government to steal from people because they have a lot of it doesn’t fly with me. Especially when the government has has proven over the decades that will spend that money poorly.

And I would not throw vets into that group. They should be better taken care. I see the bigger problem is that we entrust the government to take care of them, and again, they suck at it.

I’ll answer just these 2 and yes i agree with Tariffs on Foreign cars and on cars which American Companies create foreign nations and Foreign car Companies can just do what they do now (Hondas being made in Ohio).

And when it comes to the price of cars they generally are expensive even Foreign ones which is why alot of People lease their Cars (because they want to drive something new despite not being able to afford it) and finally on this point it could be argued that there is no free market for Cars since they must fit regulations for Quality, Emissions and safety (something of which i am full agreement with) so i cannot just by a Car from China and drive it on American roads.

No simply putting Regulation on them moving out of the Country in order to pay Workers less and pocket the products is enough. The only case id really see for Government seizing control would be in case of heavy wartime for a limited amount of time so let’s say Dodge were not creating Tanks for the US Army in the second world war but supplied Hitler in that case there is a good argument to take control but based on normal operations no.

Ford reportedly took a bailout back in the 1980’s under Reagan due to their Cars having Transmission problems which had Ford send out stickers and not issuing a recall (which would have been 25 million cars needing service which would have bankrupted it however Government assistance is not the only reason GM went Bankrupt/is not doing so good after the fact and you ignore that Ford receives giant tax cuts/breaks and that Ford is trying to get tax breaks from Detroit to expand there.

So Ford does not have a sqeaky clean record.

narwhal: There are certainly conservative politicians whom I respect — take Justin Amash. He is arguably libertarian. That is a man I’d LOVE to see run for president — though he’d lose, of course.

They only care that he can help keep liberal moralities and government from invading their own lives. Perhaps this also explains why liberals don’t seem to understand how anyone could support Trump.

I’d say many Conservatives I know voted ‘anybody but Clinton’. But many I know live in rural areas, they are not representative of all Republicans, of course. I’d say their hot button issues are/were gun control, the Affordable Care Act, immigration, trade, and manufacturing jobs, among others.

I will credit Trump for a REDUCTION in new regulations vs Obama.

In my view, government has already invaded our lives; the only question is whether it will continue to expand, or will contract.

There are certainly some libertarian Republicans; the House Freedom Caucus has maybe 36 members, if we use that as a crude metric. But, that is out of 435 representatives, about 197 of whom, are Republicans. So let’s call it roughly 18% libertarian-leaning, if you use that metric.
