I’m pretty sure that it’s only for Nukes. X-Wing fighters are good to go.
Even if space weapons are forbidden, who would be capable of enforcing such rule against US? Politicians are always for any kind of war stuff. It is not them and their kids going to the battlefield anyway.
But on the side effect it may evolve a lot on space travel. See what world wars did to aircrafts: from wooden framed, fabric winged gliders with inefficient, low power engine, to the Spitfire and Messerschmitt 262 in just a few decades. Also mention all the nuclear tech, and the V-2 rocket, and the first sort-of good encryption devices and computers to break encryption. A lot of todays tech started from that time.
To guess, in the future, mining materials from asteroids, huge space ships, and some nuclear power on space ships (possibly, fusion reactors) will be invented. Also some new type of rocket engines. (Current rockets emit hot gas at just few km/s, not much momentum to gain from a given amount of fuel. Ion engines are still very experimental and not useful enough without a lot of energy like a reactor on board.)

You guys have to understand…the average American is retarded. They’ll bitch endlessly about health insurance companies that run 4-5% profit margins as they’re busy texting on their latest iPhone…that Apple assembled in China and sold here at a 50%+ profit margin.
They’ll scream and cry that Trump tariffs are nothing but evil…yet at the same time countries that tariff our stuff aren’t a problem, and companies like Apple raking in billions in profits doing everything they can to avoid paying American taxes and off shoring as much labor as possible are just fine.
I understan all that.
And the people that don’t are Shillary or Bernie voters.

The bottom line is that a negotiation is going to happen in the not-too-distant future.
Tariffs are one of the things I disagreed with Trump on during his campaign.
They have been weaponized before and the results were not good.
But…..
After watching the Trumpster work for a year and a half it is becoming clear that tariffs are a negotiation tactic for Trump. Not the end game.
After all the US has been in a trade war for decades and Washington did nothing except make things worse.
All I’m saying is lets give El Trumpo a chance before we go all chicken-little.
