I was with my kids last night sitting at a restaurant. A lady I used to work with about 7 years ago was at the counter and spotted me. I would have ran if I was alone but was stuck this time. She came up to me while she was waiting to either be seated or maybe ordered take-out. She had asked me out while we worked together back then. I had promptly declined without giving a reason. We all know what the reasons are . We don’t have to go into it. She asked me yesterday if the reason I turned her down was because she wasn’t good enough for me. I quickly answered no. My kids know I’ve been monk for over 7 years so they knew what was going on. She went on to say that she had found out later on I was a former pro baseball player and figured that if she wasn’t a former pro athlete than that was the reason why I wasn’t interested. I told her no again. My kids both shook their heads at the same time I told her no and she noticed that.

It turns out she was ordering take-out and her food was almost ready. Thank God. The last thing she said to me is that she is noticing that “eligible men” like me aren’t dating anymore. I gave her another one-word answer again- “Yep”. She walked away and got her food and left while waving at me. She’s just noticing this now?? Holy s~~~. She was hitting the wall when she asked me out 7 years ago. She’s really hit the wall now. I wonder how many cats she lives with. I was glad my kids were with me and knew what was going on. I’m not a former pro, and nobody in my daily sphere approaches approachable. They know on a subconscious level, but it’s not an answer they want to hear, so it gets filtered out. From 13 to 30 they are told that vagina makes them the automatic winner, beyond that they have no plan. Her shortsightedness isn’t your problem. Even the kids were telling her she’s a hard pass.

Anyways, the topic of dating etc. came up in conversation, and it wasn’t in the context of dating each other, but how she couldn’t find herself a boyfriend that she could get together with periodically to have “fun” or whatever.

I made the comment to her that after I finally get divorced someday that I have NO DESIRE for any form of “relationship”, and I don’t think that it’s all that uncommon for some Men to just not want to be bothered with “ALL THAT” as they get older and have already been put through the marriage ringer.

She didn’t really want to buy it, and was trying to tell me that I would probably change my mind in time. Yeah, well I just ley her believe whatever she wants. LOL LOL LOL

She holds a prestigious job that requires a lot of education. I’m guessing she was looking to “marry up” instead of her equal or even down. As a result she rode the c~~~ carousel long and hard through her 20s not being able to find a”worthy” mate. Then one day she looked up. She was past 30 and the wall had already hit her. That’s when I shot her down when she approached about 7years ago. When I saw her the other night the wall had hit her like a Mack Truck. I must have had a smirk on my face because my kids were asking me what was so funny while we were driving home.

Great story! I bet years ago when she asked you out she already knew you had been a pro athlete – if just one woman you worked with knew, they probably all knew.

Last night I was talking with an old never-married female friend who I dated long ago. She mentioned that a couple of people we knew had been divorced by their spouses. This led to a conversation about marriage, and I basically gave her the black pill version – vows mean nothing anymore, cheating is commonplace, marriage is a dying institution, a man who marries is putting himself at huge risk, men and women don’t need each other anymore, sex robots are on the way, there is no “safe” way for a man to partner with a woman to raise children so birth rates will continue to fall, and on and on. I was able to shoot down every objection she made. And she was repeatedly going for the “but I’m not like that.” My response each time was either “enough women are like that and men can’t tell the difference” or “none of those other women would say they were like that before they acted like that.” I think she was trying to sell me on the idea that she was a good woman because she wants to rekindle that relationship she killed a long time ago, but there’s no way that’s gonna happen.
