So I went to a history museum and was looking at the military section. Seeing an error I pointed it out to a docent. It went something like this. I’m looking a WW2 US Army dress uniform.

Hi, I like to point out an error in your exhibit.

Oh really, I’m Dr. XXXXX the chief curator of this museum and assistant professor of history at XXXX.

Ok, On that uniform the CIB is in the wrong place.

    blank stare.

    The combat infantry badge.

    blank stare.

The little blue and silver badge on the right breast pocket.

Oh, where do you think it should be?

The US Army thinks it should be over the left breast at or near the top of the other decorations not pinned on the right breast pocket flap.

    really? (with disapproving look)

    Yep.

Well, maybe they did it different in WW2.

    Nope.

(Very dismissive) I’ll look into it (and walks away).

When you are wrong you are wrong, just admit it. It must have made her hamster spin knowing that a man, a Mr., could point out an error in the female Dr’s museum.

    Typical leftist academia response.

    “I’ll look into it”

Seems like a too big of a deal to me.

"We are free to follow our own path. There are those who will take that freedom from us, and too many of you gladly give it. But it is our ability to choose – whatever you think is true – that makes us human. There is no book or teacher to give you the answers, to show you the path. Choose your own way! Do not follow me, or anyone else."

I’m surprised she didn’t throw a fit on the floor (like kids do) and accuse you of patriarchal, demeaning mansplaining.

It’s because you are a Man, and you are correcting a Woman. On the other hand if you were another woman, she would have accepted what you pointed out.

Women view men the same way a farmer views a plow horse. Heaven forbid if the Plow Horse tells the farmer the correct way to plow a field.

History gets re-written all the time because of people like that. It can start out slow and pretty soon the Nazis weren’t all that bad , and women really were the creators of all of civilization.

I know you are right on that one I do remember hearing that metals are worn over the heart.

    Good one Jan.

    You handled that one well.

I’m surprised she didn’t claim rape or something.

Any decent American would want our Military uniforms displayed and honoured correctly. All it would have taken is a quick google search to confirm your correction since she doubted it, then fix it. Then of course a thank you to you. That would have meant she was wrong, females with titles are never wrong in there minds. Military Uniforms of any nation should be diplayed correctly thats my thoughts.
