You’re right about the scale of the magma chamber.

I do know that, if say, 1 megaliter of water was converted to steam (instantly) the local effects on the equipment used to inject it plus effects on the surrounding crust would of be of concern to me. Even if the water were to be in a super-critical state, God only knows what it would do. Very few things can dissolve Gold.

It could be like draining a huge boil.

The cool thing is that the heat comes from radioactive decay from elements created by supernovas and reconstituted here. We’re f~~~ing with s~~~ we don’t fully comprehend.

The thing is, they got no f~~~ing idea how that magma will react because it’s never been done before.
Plus, they been saying that the whole thing vents through geysers and pools of mud and water so why f~~~ with it from the bottom instead of the top? That makes no sense to me.

2,500 cubic miles in volume and measures about 19 by 55 miles.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it. At 3000C to 4000C, it’ll more than smoke. The chemistries that occur under those conditions are not well known due to the obvious difficulties. I think we have a better handle on the geology of it.

The only good news is that Yellowstone has the occasional eruption the release pressure, most times the Yellowstone basin remains stable and eruptions are smalls and not super-eruptions.

Chances are there will not be a super-eruption at Yellowstone in our lifetimes, unless someone is idiotic, or desperate enough to cause such an eruption.

I would be more concern with the volcano which are more active, such as the “burning fields” by Napels, Italy.

Actually, a Yellowstone supereruption would not be a Permian Extinction level event. It would be bad, but not that bad.

The Permian Extinction event, 252 million years ago, was caused by the Siberian Traps (think a large area of several volcanoes with interconnecting magma chambers). In the case of the Siberian Traps, that was most of Siberia. Though, these volcanic traps are now dormant and most of these volcanoes are believed extinct. Dealing with the Permian Extinction event, the theory being a meteor hit the Siberia and cause all the Siberian traps to erupt at once, covering Siberia in two miles of manga and causing a winter that makes the Yellowstone caused winters look tame in comparison.

The ash covered areas of the last three Yellowstone supereruptions cover basically the U.S. mainland territory from west of the Appalachian mountain chain to the west coast.

If humanity survived the volcanic winter, most of the U.S. would be destroyed, but the rest of the world would go on.

Thank you, Faust. Now that makes sense to me. The whole valley is the mouth of the volcano, some 30-odd miles wide, and they want to pull away what supports it.
I don’t see this ending well at all.

Now, if they’re really planning this, doesn’t it mean that they have some kind of strong indications it’s about blow soon and they’ll try that as a last-ditch effort? Otherwise, why f~~~ with it like that in the first place?

I want to recall that 95% to 98% of all life was wiped out by the Permian Event.

Yellowstone is a mere pimple compared to that Permian. I do know that there are also other Yellowstone equivalents across the World too.

Those potential Canary and Azore Islands’ volcano landslide tsunamis worry me more as far as things volcanic go being a US East Coast resident. The average time between disasters is about half of that of the big Yellowstone events.

I remember the effects of Pinatubo here in the Northern Hemisphere. It was cooler plus the sunsets rocked. Pinatubo was a cap gun.

What is the difference between globalists and the oligarchy that runs the US? It’s the same people. They don’t want to destroy the US, they just want to suck it dry before moving on, but first they need something else to develop before they drop the US.
