Typical bulls~~~, this is no surprise. I’m waiting to see what actually comes of this, if he will win his case because gender discrimination is only a one way street to most blue pill f~~~ers. They don’t care about men, so I doubt much of anything will come out of this.

Feminism is a movement where opinions are presented as facts and emotions are presented as evidence.

Ms. Mayer has steadfastly refused to use the word “layoff” to describe the thousands of jobs eliminated since she joined the company. She even forbade her managers from uttering what she called “the L-word,” instructing them to use the term “remix” instead.

That’s a woman. Trying to control what words people use. Nobody is a bigger control freak than a vagina owner. How in the name of f~~~ can anyone think women are suitable for leadership positions when they are so threatened by anyone’s legitimate freedom of expression.

I wonder if the courts could compel them to release the rankings? I bet analysis would confirm female managers favoured female employees at a statistically significant rate.

    Meh, that’s only facts I guess…

It seems pretty clear that they didn’t give the required notice. It’s a mass layoff. The method they used to determine which employees were most expendable is irrelevant. You can’t say it was performance based termination because there was no verbal and/or written discipline beforehand. Not mentioned in the article at least. $500 x 60 days x 1,100 = 33,000,000. That’s just the pay for the notice period not given. That doesn’t include the benefits and other required payouts.

I’ve been following Yahoo’s implosion and had already read about this lawsuit in a few industry pubs. This is not a case of sex discrimination by any stretch of the imagination. It’s a straight up labor practices issue.

The case against Yahoo is going to hinge whether Yahoo engaged in layoffs while trying to disguise them as QPR based firings. California is going to look at the number and timing of the firings, not the gender of those fired.

Also, while I’ve no doubt women managers fiddled with the QPR ratings for their female employees – it’s a bit of nastiness the QPR system is very susceptible to and one of the reasons most corporations have dropped such systems – there’s no real indication that Anderson received a poor rating because he was a man. It seems Anderson had the bad luck to be away on an academic fellowship when his two superiors left the firm leaving him no support in the office. That sort of corporate politics can and does happen to anyone.

As for Mayer, I know it’s tempting for us to blame women for everything but she’s just a tiny part of the problem. Yahoo has been staggering for over a decade with no clear goals or business plan. The problems at Yahoo are endemic and Mayer was brought in the hopes a Google “superstar” could turn the company around. The truth of the matter is Yahoo cannot be fixed as currently organized.

One part of the board recognizes that Yahoo must be “blown up” while another, slightly larger, part has constantly fought that idea. Mayer and the CEOs before her have followed the majority and tried to make Yahoo work while keeping Yahoo mostly intact. It becoming increasingly clear that those efforts are not going to work.

Finally, regarding upper management’s refusal to allow the use of the word “layoff”, that’s a normal practice among many corporations involving many words and not something only women would do. Given the financial penalties Yahoo would incur if it had admitted it was conducting layoffs, it’s not surprising that management doesn’t want the word bandied about.

TL;DR – No sex discrimination here, just another dinosaur from an earlier internet era finally beginning to die.

Do not date. Do not impregnate. Do not co-habitate. Above all, do not marry. Reclaim and never again surrender your personal sovereignty.

Company was directionless before the t~~~ became CEO. She was simply the icing on the s~~~ sandwich the company has become. Oh and spending 1.1 billion on tumbler was a laugh riot in the IT world.
