A sideline near-space series of missions.
    G’s Mach’s and Geeze.

    Wiki X-15

    Flight 91

    Flight 191

I have laid hands on one. It was cool.

(tried to post this in a dying thread and I don’t think it worked, not meant to double post but this should stand on its own anyway ~ no lunacy)

    Very cool…
As a boy, I remember my uncle telling me the X-15 flew so fast the paint burned off.
I thought he was pulling my leg!

Cool old movie with Charles Bronson and MTM. MTM is really hot in this pic. I think it was her first movie…

(The movie was made when ‘torpedo t~~~’ were still in fashion)

Pretty sure I posted on here somewhere about shooting the s~~~ with an old guy in a hangar at Godfrey Field outside of Leesburg, VA back in the 1990’s. We pilots call it hangar flying i.e. swapping stories and telling aviation related jokes. Come to find out that I had been bulls~~~ting for 45 minutes with Scott Crossfield “Fastest Man Alive” from the x-15 program and “The Right Stuff”. Super nice guy!

I met Chuck Yeager once. I got his autograph at a ‘meet-n-greet’ before an airshow. They say that he’s not really a people person…
