So I asked my supervisor for a night off, since I have a bunch of dental appointments early in the morning (same time my shift ends).
He replied that it was a short notice, but was able to find a replacement.
The problem is that this guy can only work 20h/week, because from my understanding my supervisor would have to either pay overtime or pay him for the shift. But he would have to pay either way if I remain.
So he asked me to PAY cash to my replacement so that he can cover my shift. I mean this is the first time I ever hear anyone say this. Completely baffled and am getting really p~~~ed of now since I have to reschedule my appointment’s now.
I mean the guy is making money off of me and other guards, gets health benefits and good salary. And yet wants me to pay out of my pocked. Is this S~~~ even legal or fair? Your thoughts and suggestions on how to handle this situation???

ummmm.
speak with someone above him and hit the record button on your cell before going in.
explain he wanted cash ..
that is highly illegal.“That is highly illegal” is the first thing that occurred to me too. I’m vindictive enough that I would impeach the bastard, and let him take his chances with the labor relations board.
Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?

Anonymous42labor relations board.
Roydal said what was in my mind as I read it, looks like the dust has settled on this labor violation and he’ll deny everything.
I used a labor board complaint and witnesses when I sued and won against a guy that was outright screwing me. A year into the ordered payment plan (ordered by the judge) he stopped paying me and I went back to court and filed a new complaint.
He was ordered to pay again, on time, and got a suspended sentence. When I get f~~~ed and can’t prove it I settle things a different way. The asshole that tried to f~~~ me acted as if I was the asshole when all he had to do is pay me.Look for a better job somewhere else, you’re just cannon fodder. Make it your hobby, anyone that hires you while you’re still employed has already (in there minds) know you’re looking for more and can’t find that in your current employer. Like throwing darts, you can only win and get more. So why not? The worst time to negotiate for employment is when you’re unemployed. Shoot for a higher position, it’s not like you’re scurrying around in a panic where they’ll automatically throw you on the bottom floor with all the other desperadoes.

You see, the thing is I never expected this guy to ask me anything like this. And this is security field where you are supposed to be honorable. I do my job to the best of my abilities and go out of my way to serve people, since I actually do more customer service than security kind of work.
Another thing is that I don’t have many references and this prick would be probably my second reliable reference, but like you said-cannon fodder.
I have an interview for another position next week. They posted on their website “Above average compensation”. Currently I am making 12$ an hour, so I hope to shoot above that. Problem is that most of the security companies treat everywhere like bodies and numbers without acknowledging that without us, they are NOTHING. Employers should have more respect for their workers, after all we are making them money and they behave like they are rare diamond. It’s all BS!
But yeah I have this little piece of evidence in case he will try to screw me at one point or another.

That’s fuct and not your problem. If you can’t go above him then Find a new job. He may not have come off as that type of person before but your views should always update to reflect current events.
As mentioned job shopping while employed is much easier and gives you a leg up in negotiations.
I thought what I'd do was I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes...or should I?
So he asked me to PAY cash to my replacement so that he can cover my shift
WTF, run!
I´d leave right away, ok I´m not in your situation… but that sounds as close to slavery as it gets.

Yeah…I have to PAY indirectly to my employer lol. I’m witnessing greed getting the worse out of people now. When we (worker) talked about pay raise, they would talk about raising value by having us to do more and more s~~~ and yet no talks about raising the actual pay.
I feel like a small fish in a pool of sharks, because a lot of times their payroll would screw up our checks and make lame excuses, such as “mistakes happen”. So basically we are an annoyance to them, but f~~~ when we f~~~ up it’s the end of the f~~~ing world.
They are extremely politically correct and biased organization. I have already complained about my supervisor yelling at people at the workplace and he barely got in trouble for this. Yet he tried to make me look like an asshole for giving him a warning. And now this slavery crap lol. Yeah I will jump ship at the sign of better opportunities.

The last company I´ve worked for I went to the boss one day and asked for a raise, he told me he´s not in the position to give me a raise, f~~~ you I thought and prepared to leave. I was in that company for more than 4 years and that was their appreciation of my work. I was promoted after 6 months being there to a team leader of 20 employees at no raise.
3 months after my request for a raise I found a new job and after working there for 1 year they actually gave me a raise without me asking, they want me to stay!
You should really look for something different, try to find an employer who appreciates what you are doing, also I suggest you to keep your options open about what you will do in in your future, versatility rules.
Nowadays it´s really hard to find an employer that actually recognigizes their staff as the fundament of their business, they think that there´s enough people out there looking for a job, you´re being considered replaceable. The trick is finding something where you can´t be replaced that easy.
Make sure your new employer recognizes that you are the one they need and not the other way around.
I wish you good luck in finding a new job!Ah, women. They make the highs higher and the lows more frequent. Friedrich Nietzsche

I wish you good luck in finding a new job! Thanks man, that is a very good piece of advice. I’m having an interview next week and will see if I can negotiate a better salary, and yes like you said to make them want me and not the other way around.
It’s truly sad what employers are trying to get away with and have no sense of shame nor compassion whatsoever. They think that we don’t have the b~~~~ to drag them to courts, but I’m on a verge of doing so.
