Worst moment in cinema history

I know there are plenty of crap films out there including feminist crap like C~~~busters.

but a film I really, really like that is almost ruined by one scene….Lord of the Rings Return of the King and the “I am no man” scene. Some of the so-called comedy in the LOTR films is jarring but it doesn’t spoil anything – this feminist junk it so bad I actually fast forward this scene when I rewatch the film

But that’s not diferent from Macbeth death by the hands of mcduff who “wasn’t born” from a woman but actually cut own from her womb after she died in child labor.

I see no feminism here. She is right she is no men. But make sense, except maybe for Joan of arc, and that crazy Celtic princess of blood, only a handful of women could be found to be warriors in the battlefield. So no men can kill me, still a great chance of not dying in combat.

And Joan of arc was more a public figure “commander “ than warrior.

so a male hobbit can stab that guy to death, as can a dwarf, elf, possibly one of those walking trees etc but not a man man (it is called the world of men) – just f~~~ing feminist crap.

I have never read the book – the book’s description of things sounds much better than how the film did it for sure

and to Blade – yep I can and Luke would watch on the sidelines and beat off to the action lol

Sidecar has it right. In the books, the blades used by the Hobbits were found in a barrow, not just random daggers that Aragorn handed out like candy. The dagger that Merry used was a weapon SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED to be used against the Witch King. A weaponsmith of Arthedain enchanted the blade against him specifically. When Merry stabbed the Witch King, the enchanted blade broke the spell granting him immortality.

When Eowyn struck the killing blow in the book, it destroyed her arm and Merry’s Barrow-blade vanished. Also, she was so overpowered by the Witch King that when they found her on the battlefield, they thought she was dead. A Noldor Elf named Glorfindel, who sadly did not appear in the films, had prophesied of the Witch King that “not by the hand of man shall he fall.” Eowyn delivering the final blow does fulfill the prophecy according to how her encounter with the Witch King is worded.

“Begone, foul dwimmerlaik, lord of carrion! Leave the dead in peace!”

A cold voice answered: ‘Come not between the Nazgûl and his prey! Or he will not slay thee in thy turn. He will bear thee away to the houses of lamentation, beyond all darkness, where thy flesh shall be devoured, and thy shriveled mind be left naked to the Lidless Eye.”

A sword rang as it was drawn. “Do what you will; but I will hinder it, if I may.”

“Hinder me? Thou fool. No living man may hinder me!”

Then Merry heard of all sounds in that hour the strangest. It seemed that Dernhelm laughed, and the clear voice was like the ring of steel.

This, as Carnage pointed out, is a moment that clearly mirrors Macbeth. This is more about mistaken interpretation of prophecy than girl power.

The Hollywood cliche of replacing the Geek Tech guy with a woman because that character doesn’t have to do anything physical.

I work in Tech and there are so few women in the industry that you rarely or never see one.
