I had many experiences with flatmates, males, females, good people and bad people. I would to hear some of your present/past experiences of the worst ones you had.

Lived with two roommates while in college less than 1/4 mile away from the University.

One refused to wash the dishes if he did not personally use them, even though we would allow dishes to stack up as we were charged for water usage.

He was the same way with cleaning rugs, stairways, furniture, etc, if he did not dirty it – he did not clean it up. Played loud music at all hours and insisted that the dining room table be reserved as his personal study space for several hours each evening.

It got so bad over the summer that he allowed all the dishes to stack up, his included. Maggots started forming when my other roommate and I were absent for two weeks. We came back, cleaned up the kitchen, eliminated all the flies, and got another room mate.

years ago I was stuck for a place & shared an apartment with a guy. it was his place. he was an artist. i was looking over some of his work & his most recent was that of a woman standing on the pinnacle of a mountain. I said, ” you idolize women ” Boom!! the s~~~ hit the fan. He berserked out. Ripped the phone out ( before cellphones ) I still dont understand that & literally started screaming. i didn’t need any thing else to happen for me to jet out of there. I found keeping my own counsel in this pathetic, sick society a survival skill. the less said the better, but with MGTOW I believe I have found my own kind

A single dad with a teenage son in a one bathroom apartment (American for flat). It was truly a mistake to let those two into my space, even though they needed shelter “for a few weeks.”

By the way, “a few weeks” turned out to be eighteen months. What a dolt was I!

When I was in college, I shared an apartment for a couple of years with a friend (a guy with similar interests). Initially, it worked out well — we both mostly kept to our own rooms and we had a gentleman’s agreement about how to handle cleaning and cooking chores, which we both honored. The problems came after the other guy let his girlfriend move in. She was loud, annoying, inconsiderate, failed to clean up after herself, complained about projects I was working on in the common area, brought her own friends over (some of whom refused to honor the household “no shoes” policy), etc. I only had 6 months to go at this point, so I finished out my time, graduated, and got out of there.
