Hey,
so i have had a routine going for the past 3 months but i find i am not getting much better with regards to physical strength anymore.
General weekly routine is as follows:
Monday: Rest
Tuesday: 2hrs Martial Arts
Wednesday: Yoga/Biking (possible rest day due to work week)
Thursday: 2hrs Martial Arts
Friday: Legs & Shoulders
Saturday: Skiing/Biking, Back & Biceps
Sunday: Skiing/Biking, Chest & TricepsMartial Arts are stuck on Tuesday and thruday since its classes.
looking for some input because like i said i find the strength/weights side of things seems to have topped out. i am currently working on the eating habits side of things, but wondering if i should consider changing up the routine for weights.
Thanks
Could be a few different things; here’s a few thoughts…try not lift 3 days in a row, do strength training before aerobic/cardio work, make sure you’re getting enough protein and proper nutrition, and also get enough sleep.
We just don't realize life's most significant events while they're happening. Back then, I thought, "Well, there'll be other days". I didn't realize that that was the only day. - "Moonlight" Graham

This, eating properly is the most important thing in an exercise program.
"what a waste of a life, to marry, give up your freedom, just for the hope of not dying alone. Don't get married Son."
Yup…Eating properly is essential…plus portion control…It would depend what you want to achieve…Oh, and proper breathing…
Strength training would require you to have more protein intake and less cardio…It is a balance and your routine is all over the place…Focus on what you want to achieve be it a good body shape or strength or endurance. There are compromises on that..You cant do everything…
Plus, I have seen weemin at the gym…They would be there more than 2 hours but never break a sweat…They would always be on their phones updating and taking selfies…No wonder they complain there is no improvement…

I bought one of those Ninja / Bullet blenders at the start of the year and have changed my breakfast from boxed cereal to blended shake of deliciousness.
Everyday I blend:
Frozen berries or 1 apple,
1 banana,
Generous helping of Greek yogurt,
A few cups of milk,
Heaped tablespoon of Peanut Butter,
1 serve of protein powder with carbs;A few things I’ve noticed are I’m getting noticeably more energy,
and the extra protein is helping with muscle and strength gains. For the record, I’m more of a ectomorph which means I’m naturally lean,
although I do work hard to stay in shape, try to do some form of activity every day."Society is to blame" Denton
It sounds like your body plateaued and is no longer making progress.

JB, i will try and find a split routine that will work with the martial arts and i will focus more on the healthy eating side of things.
i hear ya nerdtunneler.. i spent the money on getting a gym and weights at home due to the line ups and crowds you see at the gym of people there to socialize instead of get the job done.
Thanks for the input.
I will add to this, that once you’ve taken the three days off, document everything. For example, exact reps, sleep, any day missed, workout started late, workout ended prematurely. Speaking for myself, I have found that for every good workout habit, I acquire a bad one. E.g. bulls~~~ting when I should be starting my next set, taking 5 more ad infinitum seconds between sets, alcohol taxing my liver or dissuading it from focusing on anabolism. Working out at that gym’s ‘wrong time of day’ .
One workout to plan is the macro large scale, which you are doing with this post. From now on for one year, plan on changing your workout every eleven weeks, since you already know that by twelve, things are burning out.
To train mercilessly linearly, like the world champions’ Bulgarian Olympic lifters, requires that your very life is based on the results as well as basically unlimited drugs, including adrenaline injections and transdermals.
Please do let us know what worked, in that it is a problem we all face – nose to the grindstone – well meaning – right through to and including plateauing/burnout. Hope this Helps. I don’t et a commission, but you might want to try that PS XBOX 90 workout that was the craze a while ago.
