That kinda explains a lot. When I looked for men it said that men weren’t as happy as women. I think the fem-science doth lie it’s freakin ass off.

I for one am very happy there is no fault divorce because when I’m down, really down and out, nothing is going right. The car breaks, the internet goes down. When ever I experience this pit of despair I remember…I could still be married.

The realization that I am free of that prison of the soul lifts my spirits and gives me a will to go on. Good days are ahead, and they come.

This is just my opinion on the matter – not even sure if any statistical research has been done to confirm my theory:

However – The type of women that are ‘happier’ after a divorce are the women who when they were married, were expected by their husbands to be in a mutually reciprocating relationship where both partners work towards maintaining the marriage (emotionally, physically and financially) and they were married to men that had reasonable and mature expectations of the woman they were with in terms of the woman/wife being an actual partner in the marriage and conducting herself like a responsible adult. Then women like that who are not grown up and/or mature enough to handle being in a marriage, eventually see a divorce as a way out rather than focus on being in a committed and intimate relationship that requires they actually exert a significant amount of time, effort and energy into the marriage. They see divorce as a way out of having to have any responsibility with and/or for another person and after calculating the total costs of staying in the marriage with terms and conditions that are to be expected of a spouse: they opt for a way out and what they consider to be getting their freedom back.

The remaining women that are not in that group and stay married while also being ‘happy’ are the ones that have in their own eyes properly trained their husband to handle any and all adult responsibilities within the parameters of the marriage, pay most or all of the bills (since at that point the guy has been convinced that it is his job) while she still works but uses her money for herself. And there are no reasonable expectations or demands put on her to reciprocate within the marriage and/or conduct herself in a way that would be consistent with what a woman who is in an intimate and committed relationship would do. Basically: securing the benefits of a husband financially while still enjoying the advantages of essentially being single. Relationships like that work out only as long as the guy is content with being a human wallet, de facto father and in some cases where the woman is cheating, a willing cuckold.

They’re only “happier” when they win big divorce settlements and then get to go play cougar with the ex-husband’s money. Take that ability away from them and you’d see a lot fewer divorces, I’d wager.

You stole my thunder Doc, that’s what I was going to say, if men got the lions share of the settlement, and custody with maintenance, see how happy the men would be, and I bet women wouldn’t be quite as pleased with themselves.
Where do these studies come from? Women are happier after a big fat divorce settlement, NO I’d never had guessed.
Whats the next mind blowing revelation? Women prefer rich men? Women prefer to have feminist rights without responsibilities? I’m so over it.

That’s what reads on a metal sign which I have hanging in my very kitchen for years as a constant reminder. I wonder at what stage of the divorce they did the interview. To me, it seems pretty obvious that the girls are going to enjoy it more. As stated above, they pretty much have alimony on lock, more money if they have kids, and they can just get a new sap to pay any bills once they decide that’s the way. Seems like a pretty sweet gig to me.

Not to mention they get to tart up and get back on the c~~~ carousel. Most men fresh out of divorce are devastated, and with good reason, feeling not only fleeced but betrayed as well. So guys don’t usually celebrate divorces by getting dressed up and going to chase teenaged pussy but recently divorced women’s first urge is to go find some young stud to plug their pleasure hole while they gloat over their new ownership of the formerly family residence.

I saw a group of these last night… three very visibly aging females dressed up like they were 20-something drinking cosmos at a hip bar/lounge… and they drifted away when it became clear that nobody was interested in them. So I’m sure they trundled off to the nearest college beer and shots bar to get their fix of being treated like sex objects.

I am sure they were very happy.
