It seems to be a reasonable argument. Coincidentally, I have been wondering this very thing for a while now. What if women are merely a curse unto men. They certainly seem to aim for that position.

After all, if women are just lesser or defective versions of men, only created to be the company of men and servant, what use would it be to give them a soul, unless you want to argue the idea that all animals have souls too.

It seems to reason, women are very flawed in many aspects, and the accomplishments that they celebrate are quite often, if not all, originally a man’s. The problem with idolizing that which is supposed to serve you, you end up with animals and inanimate objects taking over your life. This only brings chaos where order once was.

What are your thoughts?

I put in two articles that give two sides, though not completely. There is a lot of content on this on the web, but it mainly goes to these points and origins. I have an opinion, but for the sake of objectivity, I will refrain from giving it.

This might be too sensitive of a topic for most. I see women as childish minds, but yes, I think they have souls. It is comical how we try to rationalize the cruelty of a woman, by things as saying they do not have a soul, but it is easier than accepting the idea that women are just that callous and cold.

Given the Atheist push than surely none of us have souls.

But I digress. I do have to wonder if women have souls. Maybe they did once. But Feminism definitely took their souls away if they ever did have them.

Referring back to another thread…unless he’s the Joker. As you pointed out, that’s what makes the character work, and why it wouldn’t work as a female character.

Women ARE an army of Jokers. Kind of pointless to pick out one Joker from that army and substitute her for the fictional Joker.

Many who do not believe in god(s) still believe in a soul or spirit of a person. The core of the person within the body.

This is just it though. How often does a man reach the level corruption that a woman does without even trying. How can someone have a soul and yet feel nothing to the harm that they cause others for their own selfishness. The worst part is the pain they bring onto children, which will repeat the process in similar fashion, having been screwed up by how they were raised.

I enjoy philosophical debates, and this is one that I stumbled upon that I found intrigue in. It is interesting to see how one rationalizes another person’s evilness or greed, or damns them for at as well. More so, I like to get perspectives outside my own on topics, so that I do not get two dimensional in my thinking, so that I can gain the most out of learning something, even if it is not earth shaking.

I do not understand the joker thing. It might be from being awake for too long, sleep deprivation, or maybe an inside thing that I missed.

“Souls” is too indefinite in its meaning to be of much use here. Perhaps the better question is: Do women have any desire or commitment to pursuing the truth? Stated a different way, do women dedicate themselves to reason and following reason wherever it may take them, despite all consequences?

To be fair, I don’t believe most men are interested in philosophy or have the relentless desire to understand his own nature. But the potential and the capacity for such a pursuit at least exists among men. I believe it is possible that a genetic woman could theoretically be dedicated to reason and strive to understand the nature of existence. But if such a woman exists, she would be masculine because striving to understand one’s own nature is purely a masculine quality.
