“Lay misperceptions of the relationship between men’s benevolent and hostile sexism”

Amy’s research exposed women to three types of behaviours: Hostile Sexism (which is what people normally think of when they hear the word ‘sexism’), Equality (i.e. treating women exactly the same as men) and Benevolent Sexism (i.e. giving women advantages and preferential treatment on the assumption that they are less capable than men).

The interesting thing is that the women in the study considered Equality to be the same as Hostile Sexism, i.e. misogynistic & sexist behaviour by men. They were only happy with Benevolent Sexism, which they assumed to be normal, expected behaviour for men and which they misunderstood to be equality.

Women are conditioned to expect special treatment from men. this explains so much. The paradox of female unhappiness. The more equality they get , the less happy they are.

A fascinating study although not surprising. Women are NEVER content with what they THINK they want. For them the grass is always greener on the other side. The wickedness in the world is designed to upend everything that is good and beautiful. Thats why you see the word “porn” attached to things that generally speaking are totally acceptable. I.E. ‘food-porn’ to describe a good looking meal, ‘earth-porn’ (?) to describe a beautiful scene.

Feminism is a DEMONIC concept. Everything that is good and wholesome about male and female relationships has been torn down and dragged through the mud. Women were once protected by men, but now, since they’ve lost their values, they’ve lost their value.

Thanks for the interesting article. I think you are correct. Women don’t want equality. They expect and demand preferential treatment. And women do view true equality as hostile and unacceptable.

The book is titled Self-Made Man. I read it many years ago and found it interesting. I firmly believe she exaggerated certain parts and made up others.

For example, I don’t believe she fooled either the members of the bowling team she joined or the brothers at the monastery where she took a cloistered sabbatical for very long if at all. Both the team and the monks were just too polite to kick her out. I also don’t believe she was threatened in any way at the male support retreat she attended.
