Socialism works in theory only. It sounds great, but it does not take human nature into account.

I would say that modern marriage itself is an experiment in socialism. In today’s marriage, the husband and wife are both considered equal in terms of leadership and control. Both members are expected to work to the best of their ability for the benefit of all. But it’s not hard to predict that the two citizens of the family government want to use resources for different things. One or both fail to work at their best as they do not see the returns from that work.

I would argue that marriage used to be like a monarchy. The husband was the leader who made decisions. He was expected to put the needs of others ahead of his own…and this would result in a successful family. Of course, he could also abuse this power and ruin his family.

In the future, I’m hopeful that marriage will be more like capitalism. That is to say that interactions are contractually controlled, and each person chooses to engage in relations as they see fit for their own benefit. Any breaking of relations will also be defined by the preset contractual obligations That said though, it’s hard to really call that a marriage in comparison to what it is today. Then again, marriage 100 years ago surely looks nothing like what it is today.

Exactly.
It doesn’t take in account two very relevant factors:
First, when a person don’t have incentives then s/he tend to not work or to work the barely minimum. The same could be said for capitalistic companies who doesn’t properly incentivize their employees, but in a socialist system it happens at all levels, everywhere.
Second: even if you take away economical differences people are still not equal, because there will be always many other differences between people. A guy who is a sport champion and charming is going to be much more well off than an ugly and shy guy, in example, even in a totally communist society.

If you want to criticize socialism, you’re welcome, I do the same too.
But if you don’t like a thing that doesn’t mean it’s related with feminism.
