The same reason trains do. They brake for nobody.

These truckers are driving on small roads that stretch for hundreds of miles between towns. They cannot risk trying to avoid an animal that wonders on the road. Instead, the bars are their to protect the truck from the foolishness of an animal wondering onto the road.

I been to the land down under when I was a kid. Got to pet a Komodo Dragon! Was kinda s~~~ting myself, it was two or three times bigger than me.

Was it in rainforest joe .

Had them nearby in the hills big f~~~ers . Ranger told me the cane toads f~~~ed em but i also beleave the wild dogs up there also played apart .

Tourists as well f~~~ed them up by feeding them .

My father had a pet water dragon . You could hand feed the c~~~ and everything this was like back when i was twenty .

He went away and i had to look after this budgee that could repeat what you just said on the phone . Hard to understand until you knew the bird .

So i go round to feed his avery and just got some weed . I got the budgee that stoned i thought i killed the c~~~ . Picture the stoned moment of panic . Silly young s~~~ . Did nothing to the water dragon . He had a few water dragons but there was one in particular that you could pet .

All animals were fine and happy when i left .

Underneath the trucks where they keep the spare wheels they started putting a cage around them .

It was done to stop aboriginals catching a ride and falling under the wheels .

My brother back in the day was in a cop station near mount isa i think but up that way when a trucker called in to report an incident he seen on the road .

Back in the day out there you could always tell when an animal was hit by a truck with no speed governer and a c~~~ on speed that was doing high speed .

A coach bus driver told me how his mate had hit a cow while we were hitting 140 km snaking along a dirt road and straightining it up as he just fittted the bus threw a cattle grid . The coach buses all have bullbars to .

Should see our country bumkin ute drivers . Big bullbars on utes big spot lights all over the c~~~s raised with a big set of mudflaps on the back with a bulls~~~ stereo system to pump that country bumkin rap
