The answer to WHY is very obvious to me.

The very powerful corporations fund far left ANTI-capitalistic political philosophies because they want an environment that is unfriendly to business.

And the reason WHY is because they want to stifle future competition by turning America away from Market Capitalism and turning it to Crony Capitalism where you become very rich after buying government favor.

Yeah, its like Rockefeller used to say “Competition is a sin.”

Monopoly is the name of the game and socialism eliminates competition quite nicely.
