Just curious, is welding all that much different than soldering?

I make stained glass projects using the Tiffany Method…putting copper tape around the edge of the glass

oh I see you are melting into the surface you are welding.

Soldering I do more or less fills in the gaps between the glass, and wraps lead around the glass on the copper tape. then blobs form at the junctions, holding everything in place. I don’t think the copper tape melts, and neither does the zinc framing material.

Welding is high temperature, melting the materials together while adding the same type of material to fill in the gap or to thicken the junction. But welding is deep pentration of the 2 partner materials. Both sides have to be (close to) the same type of material. Like “iron to iron”.

On the other hand, soldering is more like getting a low temerature bond on the surface of 2 different materials by using a third material as the junction provider in between. In soldering you need “flux”-chemicals to clean-sweep all materals from oxidation, so the tin or lead solder can form a clean bond with the joined materals.

Like joining “brass” (LED Socket) >>> tin / lead solder >>> and then “copper” in the lead wire.

Re: soldering…

The closest analogy to welding would be TIG welding, I think. I used to do a lot of TIG welding. It was fun, very much like art. Obviously there are some fundamental differences between welding and soldering, but TIG is probably the closest “style” for soldering. If you have good hand-eye coordination and really do soldering well, you’re probably going to do just fine with TIG.

Re: vagina exercises

Maybe if women actually spent time off their butts and doing physical activities, they wouldn’t be so weak, including in their lady parts. Heck, just walking a lot would strengthen all of their core muscles. I have a feeling that this isn’t a huge issue with women who grow up more physically active… like rancher girls.
