So, I’m bouncing around on the net, and I ran across this article. Apparently, people are upset that the characters in the “The Outsiders” aren’t.. gay? Apparently, when questioned as to rather two characters, “Johnny and Dally” were gay, the Author stated “No, Where is the text backing this?”. My question is, where is the logic in attacked retroactive pieces of proverbial art, basing it on today’s social standards? I… am I the only one that thinks that is absolutely insane?

Also under fire, MARVEL I’m assuming was to introduce a protege to Iron-Man, and this got shout down because the character was potrayed as being too sexualized?
I think what feminist really means is that they don’t want to see a protege to a popular figure actually be portrayed as anywhere near attractive. It should be more realistic, like, Land Whale based. My question is when the f~~~ are fictional comics supposed to cater to reality?

Funny, isn't it? How women thrive on a mans time, attention and resources, while simultaneously telling him he isn't enough...

I think this s~~~ is all social engineering. Women are easier to control/lead/scare. Therefore the more you can feminize men, the more you can control/lead/scare them. The last thing that those in power want is men who do and say as they please outside the lines of the predetermined destination for society.

Even George Takei hated the idea of a gay Sulu and felt that it s~~~ on Roddenberry’s original work.

People should be reading more scientific books than literature. Too many people, especially in the west, are wasting their precious time and IQ on stupid art when something like math and logic should be life long and the number one focus of their studies. Not only is there a shortage of high IQ’s but we have to import students from China and India to fill in the gaps as a result of things being so dumbed down that the average citizen doesn’t know basic political and economic policy and votes on feelings instead.

I would say a more well rounded approach to that would be reading classic literature such as Shakespeare.

I actually had that Outsiders novel in English class back in HS – it’s surprising that the author Susan Hinton captured young males so well in her writings.
I bet that book is no longer a staple in school courses.

I recently downloaded The Ten Commandments starring Charlton Heston as well and wondered what a remake would look like.
The special effects would be better but the story line would be worse as in ‘modernized’ for todays audiences.
In other words the deviousness of the women as well as the hyper masculinity of the men would be toned down considerably so the ignorant masses could relate to it.
The modern sound track would probably be just as bad too.
They’d probably give God a female voice when speaking to Moses and have him less confident so they could include a strong female partner at his side ( or maybe male) lol

Judging classic literature by modern standards is like judging a steam engine for not having a touchscreen. Or judging a Supermarine Spitfire for not having fly-by-wire missiles.

And as for Marvel, if you criticise comic books for not being realistic I think you need to reevaluate your opinions and you need to start thinking about what’s real and what isn’t. Plus, last I checked comic books were for children and not adults. The entire comic book industry makes me sick.
