Got some interviews soon that look to be great for my software skills so I’ve been thinking about the question: Why do you want to work here? My real reasons would be it sounds like a job that I wouldn’t hate too much and I need money. I’ll probably tell them to increase my skills while helping the company become more innovative which, isn’t true to be honest. The truth is I feel as if software has been as innovative as it ever needed to be for some time now, any new additions just seem like icing on an already over iced cake. For example if a company comes out with a new engine that allows for a billion dynamic polygons, then they’ll just spend another 10,000 hours to make it to 2 billion the next year. At this point it just seems like software is just an endless cycle of unnecessary innovations while becoming increasingly complex. Why can’t we just stop with the innovation and just enjoy life for once, I mean we already have far more than we could ever want from software. So I’m not sure if I want to be a software developer, I’ll have to take the job if its offered for obvious reasons but I’m not feeling like I’ll be fulfilling any real purpose in life doing this. What do you guys think? Any words of encouragement would be appreciated.

It is work. It isn’t designed to be fun. You do it to be able to eat.

I feel in order to have a true decisive message, what greater way to make a bold statement than to boycott SpermBanks.

Let me know what you think Gentlemen,

    Cheers!

    Happy Holidays

all in all, you’re just another brick in the wall

You work to eat, and save for the future. Future could be retire early and work on the English garden of your dreams, or start your own business, or it means visiting every dunkin donuts in the world.

The interview is where you start out. It is not where you end up.

You have to put yourself in position to be a man of ability.

Where you begin matters not. You must shovel the gravel. To many young men live in an immediate gratification mentality. You are not entitled to it yet. First, shovel the gravel. Everything else is a distraction.

    Peace brothers

Thanks guys, I got the job. Also I realized there are still areas programming could help improve the world. I’m good now.
