If you could live the life you wanted, shape the world, create your own, do anything, be a god etc, what would you do and what would your utopia be like? You could also have cool dystopian worlds also, whatever your preference. I’d love to live in a pirate or blade runner world hehehe.
Always wanted a private tropical island to myself with a cool pirate type house.

My house lol:

We’re already living in a dystopian civilization, were society breaks down. And since it started with the utopian as the goal, it could only end in disaster. The Mouse Utopian-experiment shows what happens with a truly Utopian society; there are ample food, no/little work, no predators etc. And it breaks down very quickly. Humans, and mammals in general, aren’t bred to live in an utopian civilization, there wouldn’t be an end-goal to strive towards.

Go back and take a look at the old (good) Star Trek episode I Mudd. Kirk gives you a good explanation.
Bitches in the kitchen and the elephant in the room in a different planet or universe.

Utopia:
Exploring the universe
Dystopia:
Feminist controlled world. We are living it.It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion, it is by the beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shaking, the shaking becomes a warning; it is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion.
I used to think that living deep under the sea would be nice. Those thoughts have passed realizing that someone else would eventually claim my space as their own territory. This leaves me with one option … deep space. yes, i would like to be the sole occupant aboard a deep space exploration vessel traveling away from Earth for the next thirty years.
If I was going to live on land I would like to live in another world. With a cottage in a quiet forested area and within walking distance of a vast freshwater lake of blue water.
Either that I or I would live alone on a beautifully appointed steamship in a vast placid lake hundreds of square miles in size.
Both are extremely tempting.

This leaves me with one option … deep space. yes, i would like to be the sole occupant aboard a deep space exploration vessel traveling away from earth for the next thirty years.
My vessel would be approximately two miles in length with much of the space taken up by framework supporting necessary external equipment. It would not only be long but relatively narrow .. probably only eighty feet across at it’s widest point. It would have artificial gravity.
I wouldn’t mind at all living a third of a century alone, as long as I had my collections of media, collections of memorabilia and collections of music with me. I would also want to be able to synthesize the same food that I am used to on earth .. everything, ranging from fresh orange juice (with some pulp) to a delicious meal of scalloped potatoes and ham. Every conceivable item would be available that I now have become accustomed to, in other words .. a home away from home.
I’m not going to get into Trek Talk and try and duplicate what I have seen .. nevertheless, there would have to be a way for me to interact with lifelike computer generated “beings” in some fairly sophisticated way. These would necessarily be my traveling companions. Some, would simply be interactive voices that I could consult, converse with and ask opinions or suggestions when I have a need for assistance. Others, on such an advanced vessel .. would probably be visible in some way. I wouldn’t mind at all if they were transparent images with no substance; just whips of visible energy resembling human beings that could fully interact with me and accompany me for long intervals as each day turns into night with no end in sight.
I can see myself totally enjoying such a mission with the very distinct possibility that I would never return to Earth. I would have everything I need and I would need nothing more.
Some of the issues that would have to be worked out before my departure would be detailed plans for the unexpected and here comes the Trek Talk again .. I would need some way or someone (hologram) to perform routine dentistry. Someone to construct lenses and reading glasses as I get older. I would need someone to be available for minor surgical events.
All this would be part of the holographic computer system that would accompany me and make life smooth and sustainable.
As far as loneliness, it really wouldn’t be an issue. I’m not lonely now .. and I certainly wouldn’t be then. As long as I have my music, an occasional classic film or even a favorite sitcom to allow me to relax (I would have a library of about three thousand films, sitcoms, concerts) .. there would be a digital library of most of the classic books and numerous reference manuals on most every topic. Remember, the holograms would also be programmed to cover all the issues ranging from a chipped tooth to a broken synthesizer.
I could easily enjoy the trip with no problem. I assume as time goes on, I might develop a closer bond or feeling of friendship to some of the holograms than others. Some, I would call upon only when needed.
My days would be filled with work, exercise, guided repairs, cooking and exploration .. jogging the length of the ship .. it would be a beautiful vessel. I would spend lots of time reading.
Long dimly lit corridors ranging from a deep blue to an aquamarine sea foam green interlaced with orange designs along the tightly carpet lined hallways, fresh filtered air, beautiful fifty inch view screens scattered along my way .. and even a concourse appearing not unlike a small shopping mall with an open seating area for having lunch .. where I could spend some quality time with my holographic crew mates.
With a simple verbal instruction, I could be jogging to disco music on one end of the ship and phasing into new age or even big band background sounds as I reach the other end of my exercise run. It would be a very good life of scientific exploration combined with a personal search for the meaning of true happiness .. alone, yet very much not alone .. traveling through the cosmos with my holographic companions .. and enjoying every moment.Very interesting. You could also grow trees etc like Bruce Dern from Silent Running. “What about the Forrest?”

Me too. I love the artwork in The Curse Of Monkey Island, its the best game in the series as far as im concerned. Would love to live in a little cabin like the one in the pic. Nice log fire, plenty of beer and absinthe on hand, cigars and cigarettes and weed if you smoke, and just relax.
I would also LOVE a massive pirate ship. To either have it permanently anchored at bay to live in, or maybe go out and sail it sometimes, but id need some help with that haha.

Curse of Monkey Island has beautiful hand drawn scenes. It also came out during what I consider the golden age of PC gaming 1995-2005. It’s unlikely we’ll ever see a game like it again. It’s a special game no doubt. It will live forever thanks to the ScummVM emulator.

In my case I would prefer to be able to sail around. I would also have a futuristic computer thing to manage the few systems that typically needed to be attended.

— AND / OR —
The Kaufman House in Palm Springs. Anyone have $20 million they don’t know what to do with? If I ever won a lottery, I would knock on their door and tell them they don’t live there anymore.
If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.Exploring the universe
Definitely that, and also returning home to an Appleseed style utopia city.

The Kaufman House in Palm Springs.
Contemporary architecture loving it, that Wally yacht there is a nice piece of design work as well, couldn´t feed those turbines for a minute…
Steel, wood and glass would be the preferred materials for my house as well.
I´d be happy with something like this :

I´d prefer living in a secluded, natural environment, be it a dystopia or utopia, would only seek society for resources that I can´t produce myself (food/gas/clothes etc.). Having a work shop to weld, work on cars, creating art. Being totally self dependent would be a dream.
For mankind I´d hope we come to the day to explore space and have a Star Trek”ish” society where wars no longer take place and sanity rules, I doubt that will happen though…..

If I had $20 million I didn’t know what to do with, I would have already had the wire transfer go to wherever you wanted me to send it. Maybe Trump will hook me up, rofl.
Maybe I could call the federal Reserve and see if they could let me “borrow” the money & have it put into my account. 😛
I too, want to traverse space & time in a ship. Solo’s Falcon would suite me just fine, and if I found a beautiful alien female that was also something special on the inside, well F~~~ YEAH!
Taarna would do!

It sure does, excellent game. And you’re right, golden age of PC gaming indeed. I thought Tales of Monkey Island was s~~~ in comparison. Hated the graphics and the levels/maps were utter s~~~. Curse of Monkey Island had alot of charm and I need to play it again! I last played it in the scorching New Zealand summer heat in 2008 when i was so poor i barely had anything to eat from one day to the next.
Exploring the universe
An interstellar cruiser with warp drive. And a great stereo system. I’d love to be the first man to see Alpha Centauri up close.
