I work out almost every day. I run Ultras and lift and am also blessed with good genes.

Here is the rub: I drink way too much. It disrupts my sleep, but I love a beer buzz!

I’m pretty adept at getting up and running through a hangover. Hell, I’ve run Ultra races after day drinking the day before and done really well. Imagine what I could do if I wasn’t a lush.

In my defense, I’ve been stressed to hell and back for the last year going through divorce and my friends love to meet at pubs and breweries. I feel I need to dial it back, but I never do. It gets old sleeping like s~~~, getting up feeling like s~~~, swearing I won’t do it again… then I do it again.

    No judging please.

Any tips to help keep from pickling myself?

    D0 Drugs?

    Go to jail?

It’s really up to you man, but stress is hard to get away from. Hell, if it does not hurt anyone, then just enjoy what you like to do. Life is a short ride. So do what you enjoy.

But if you really want to stop a bad habit this works.

IT WILL MAKE YOUR DICK WORTHLESS!

    That should help.

    Love a beer buzz?

If it is good, I woldnt give you trouble to sleep and you wold not be asking this here.

So tell me, what should you do with your f~~~ing life?

In my life a decided I had a few vices, no real reason to have them and nothing good comes out of it, so I grew the f~~~ up.

To those following me, be careful, I just farted. Men those beans are killers.

That’s the thing: I think my exercise is counteracting my boozing. My libido is off the charts. I avg 3 rolls in the hay/night when the GF stays over.

I agree – I don’t want to be a T Total sober and miserable f~~~. But I do need to tap the brakes a bit.

Its a short ride when the man has things going for him. Good times fly by fast.

But its idiotic to keep f~~~ing oneself over because YOLO.

you have to decide to drink less.
    as far as pubs,
    always bad news.
costly and easy to lose track of how many you had.
    .
it comes down to a decision on your part.
    good luck w it,
the bottle is tempting to crawl into.
tough to get out of though..

Well. Imagine your dick being worthless. Don’t just imagine it. It will happen.

I barely ever drink anymore since I am not around people that make me feel like s~~~.

I’m sorry to be one sided, but that’s the one thing every man gives a f~~~ about.

Oh,, And you met are residential Miserable f~~~ who” GREW UP”.

That’s a lesson kids. NEver grow up!

But look man, like I said. You got one life. Seems like its pretty okay right now.

When your ready, you will be. But as always, Our resident Grown up has the best advice. I don’t think he has been wrong once as far as I can tell. And he gives the tough love you need. (He says he does not care, but we all know better 🙂

If you think you have a problem? Then you might. But of course there is always AA. But that’s where the real whores hang out. AND… You will start drinking and doing drugs after that.

Bottom line, its you that needs to set goal, and you that needs to attain it. No one is going to care about you if become Pickle Rick.

    Drink craft beer?.

why not drink the beer at night when you HAVE to go to sleep?.

Watch something boring at night that might help ya.

I suggest black tea to you since some studies attest to it helping the liver, you don’t want to leave the liver alone to your drinking habits with out giving it a gentle slap in the ass occasionally to get it working back again.

Eat more fish and try to rest more when you have the time, life does not get easier with time, trust me.

Cut it down gradually by 1 or 2 units a day.

If you drink a lot whatever you do, do not suddnely try and stop or half it
In the UK most cans/bottles of beer say on the back how many units it is.

Really if you drink every day it should be no more than 3 to 4 units.

Under 40 units per week and it’s not really that much of a problem over 50 and I’d say go get help.

Can you go more than 24 hours without a drink?

A 440ml can of 5% strength lager is between 2 and 2.5 units

A 440ml can of week bitter like Boddingtons for Example is 1.5 units.

WHY do you equate being sober with being a miserable f~~~ ?

It’s all a matter of perspective.

There are many people that don’t drink that think getting drunk is a miserable experience.

If you are like Many, slowing down on drinking is like trying to slow down on smoking, or any other addictive drug.

Addiction doesn’t work this way, but try what you must, and look back every six months to see just how well “tapping the brakes” is working out for you. Maybe you can CONTROL it ?? Time will Tell.

I can go 24 hours without drinking. I don’t get smashed every night -but I do have 3-4 beers per night but on weekends I have much more as I’m hanging out with friends.

It is more a a “routine” – get off work, walk in and grab a beer. I feel its more of a behavior than a dependency. It might be boredom as well?

The point is, if you are complaining about your vices, they are not vices any more, they are a problem, they control you.

But who am I to criticize.
